Hey fellas, Got a bit done on the base. Applied CelluClay and topped with dirt. let set for a hour or so and then pressed track into it. I also Added pigments and wash to the tracks and glued into place. Forgot to take a pic of the tracks in weathering process. But heres a pic of the Base. Dusty is good too Gary. The base looks nice. Is that back yard dirt? Best thing for dirt is dirt. I was on an inspection once and there was some great dirt in this guy’s yard. I asked him if I could take a shovel full and after 15 minutes of explaining why and him looking at me like I was nuts he agreed. Life time supply now

Hello Gentlemen, Did the oil fading this morning. Heres a SMALL SBS. Here are the 3 oils i used. I use Klean-Strip oderless mineral spirits to work with my oils and washes...good stuff Here ive applied the 3 colors on the side with a toothpick. And only 2 colors to the flat surfaces. I used the spirits to blend in the oils. Downward motion on the verticle surfaces with flat wide brush. On the horizontal surfaces i used a stippling motion to blend. I have decided to warm it back up slightly with a filter...but not too much. Ill post pics of that later. Hope that helps a little. Gary

I hate it when you do this I suck sooo much with oil fade. One day I`ll get the hang of it . Awesome work bro! it really binds the camo patern into a nice solid piece. Phil.

Hey Phil, thanks my brotha! I just try not to use to much spirits or it will turn into a wash. Plus my flat coat accepts the oils nicely. Later Mon Ami, Gary

Nice work on the fading Gary, adds just the right layer touch to that pattern without overwhelming it.

T. and Marc...Thanks fellas. Ive painted the base dirt and im scrounging for roots, roughage and random bits from the trusty Herb & seasoning cabinet to place on it. Not only do i hope to make look decent but it will have a nice flavor as well! Ive weathered the tools and only need to seal the wood handels with matt once the oil paint dries. Ive also added the spare tracks and will finish a bit more weathering on them...then ill start cippifications! Thanks guys! Gary
