Your tracks look very good. I hate to paint the tracks directly on the tank, but you did a great job.

cheers wing nut: i am concerned at potenialy killing my fan base tho... ;D ...maybe some protective glasses? ... thanks Dicky: happy to share the love thanks WB: slowly but surely! cheers T: gotta get this one over the finish line, the rest of production is startin to back up! cheers MAB: ive always done tracks that way, partly because that was how i was taught to do it... but also because with the rubber band tracks it is possible to damage the paint getting them on and off so to a small degree it is an expedient measure

Well, its been a while. I got this kit 95% done before hitting a speed bump with the crew figs...so an update is neccesary. When i last left, i was persuing the Miniart figures for my crew, and here they are. I got as far as assembling them to test pose and position on the tank. model base 008 by Brembo2012, on Flickr Whilst the poses themselves are good, i couldn't get them to really sit right on the vehicle, at least not in a way that loooked natural. The real bug bear was however...the heads. These figs come with a 5 piece head- a face plate and 4 other pieces that make the tankers helmet. They just looked plain wrong when assembled so they along with the bodies have been reboxed for later use.... After due consideration and wieghing my options i eventually decided that the KISS concept would be the best option, so i pulled out the spare crew figs i had left from my Tammy M4 sherman, and re animated the commander with a new arm. (se below) merkava mk2 001 by Brembo2012, on Flickr These guys are pretty good for IJ figs! So the crew were to be painted up and added, the Tasca 50 cal needed to be painted and added and lastly the antenna needed to be erected and tied back. The end result of all that is this.... adjusted image M51 by Brembo2012, on Flickr adjusted image M51 4 by Brembo2012, on Flickr adjusted image M51 2 by Brembo2012, on Flickr So thats it for the M51....just in time for the Merks to hit the paint booth and for the next build to fire up.....i think i se a LAV in my future? thanks for all the views and all the support through this build. MSC is a great place to hang for sure. cheers Rich

Awesome build Brembo. I like what you've done with the Tamiya kit. Interesting use of figures for the crew. I like it a lot.
