Hi guys, I just want to share with you my simple diorama that I have built out of styrofoam and whitecement. The kits featured are Academy M151 MUTT jeeps outfitted with the US 106mm recoiless rifle. The other MUTT serves as the ammunition carrier. Both are painted in Iranian colors during the 1980s. The bandanas are strips of paper with improvised Farsi script. The Iranian flag is home made as well as the Ayatollah Khomeini's portrait. The shrubs are made from paintbrush strands. The set is weathered with pastel chalks and Tamiya Weathering Master. The picture I am depicting is the Pasdaran in frontline action during the 1980-88 Iran-Iraq war. The Sepāh-e Pāsdārān-e Enqelāb-e Eslāmi or Pasdaran is the Islamic Republic of Iran's Revolutionary Guard. This unit was formed as a product of the Islamic Revolution of 1979. This is a branch of the military, separate from the Iranian Army that is tasked to check on internal dissent coming from the military and civilian life as well. They function more like Saddam Hussein's elite Republican Guard. The Pasdaran performed heavily and with devout fervor during the Iran-Iraq war, countering Saddam's invasion of Iranian soil. This is one of my limited attempts on making a diorama base and I still can see some things that need to be improved like the base, its too smooth for me:D Anyways, enjoy guys! This was inspired by this clip (0:30): www.youtube.com/watch?v=GaOEnctICcs&feature=related Thanks a ton! Cheers! Iking
