I'm going to be completing this kit 12 yrs after i started it . History .Sturmgeschutze Assault Tiger mounted a 380mm (15") rocket propelled motar . The intended purpose was to support infantry assaults against heavily fortified targets . The RW61 rocket motar weighed 376 kg. (850 lbs) . 13 rockets were carried on racks inside the casement . 19 Sturms were built . Here's a good video of a Sturm firing rocket mortar . www.youtube.com/watch?v=bmSNMkOwWs8I made a good start on it and then for a reason i forget now i put it back in the box and foregot about it . The interior has been painted the wrong color . After i redo the interior with a pe set i'll repaint it .

I've got the 1/48 version of this by AFV on the "to be done" shelf. I looked at it once, and put it back when I saw they had pre-molded the zim on the front and back panels, but left the sides smooth. Replicating their pattern so it all matches is going to be a bear!
Looks like you've got a good start on yours, Carl. I'll be tuning in from time to time to check the progress.

Bish , i went with the Eduard 3514 big Ed . Its specifically for the Tamiya kit and Sprue Bros. had it in stock . I was surprised it was still there concidering the age of this kit . I'll let you know how good it is . Supposed to be here Mon. afternoon .(2-11) Texas , strange idea for a weapon indeed .850 lbs of destruction . This weapon was used against the Warsaw uprising . Poor souls on the receiving end .

Considering the size of the rocket shell it fired, it was definitely more of an 'area' effect weapon!

Texas , crazy aint it .It'd be my luck to be sitting behind a 97 inch thick wall ! Rob , have patience on following this one . I've got a couple of others going on and i havent really looked at the pe on this yet . One thing i did see is that there is pe rifling for barrel which i was glad to see . Getting it rolled and fitted could be a bit of a challenge but it should look good .

www.youtube.com/watch?v=bmSNMkOwWs8Hey Carl, thanks for this one, I've lost more than one hour of bench time watching many of this great little documentaries on Youtube (for example a shocking one on Sherman tanks and their crews : quote "The Sherman tank was a great tank but it figured in the wrong war"). I'm sure you will give this oldie a nice face lift ! Waiting for more... Best regards ! AG.

Nice photo, never seen one of these being fired before, but then they were a rare beast.
I went for the double Aber set for mine, probably very similar to the one you have. I didn't realise Eduard did Big Ed sets for armour, will have to look into that.
