Good evening gentlemen.I am posting this here at the moment, because I haven't got around to doing a full review of this new kit from Airfix.I reserve the right to start this at anytime,OR move to the Review Board as I see fit I suppose I'd better start with the sprue shots(Apologies for the appalling piccies, won't fit in the booth)There are 4 main sprues of the normal Airfix plastic,1 of clear for the canopy and windows,etc...which appear to be clear, and free of blemishes. First up are the main internal, and external panels... As with all the recent Airfix releases, there is minimal flash, and some excellent detail, although I think some of the sprue gates are a tad heavy. This comprises various ancilliary parts, panels, rear ramp etc... The vast majority of this sprue comprises the seating etc,for 24 fully equipped troops, and the detailing for the interior. This last main sprue comprises the main rotor blades, defence systems, and all the other 'sticky out' bits you get on modern aircraft nowadays ( I will endevour to be a bit more technical,if the need arises! ) Like I have already said, the clear sprue looks well moulded, and without blemish.Next we have the decal sheet, which supplies markings for 5 aircraft, more of which in my next bulletin. The eagle eyed amongst you,may have noticed a proliferation of stencils to be applied.A lot of these will be inside the aircraft, and so will be largely invisible, but you will know they're there. Along with this little lot,you get a 5 page paint scheme instruction, and a 24 page A4 size booklet, with 138 build stages.Just one more image before I go...for those that are bound to ask "How big is she?".... Well,16" approx, nose to tail...so she is no 'shrinking violet'!!!!! I'll post more here,as I do my continuing research, but I wanted to get this up today. Hope you like!!!!!

I like!
Gosh CB, that's a lot bigger than I imagined it would be, loads of parts too. Being a new mold I guess it will be as much of a pleasure to build as my little Coyote!

Prof,I certainly hope so!! Although the Lynx was not without it's minor fit 'problems',generally I like the new releases that Airfix have done.

Gary, you might have to wait a while for this beauty, because my bench is just a tad overcrowded at the moment.I picked up another kit today which you also might like the look of.

Nice looking kit CB! She's a big girl! All my whirly birds are in Braille scale so I don't have the issue of room like you do. I will have to try and pick up a Merlin to add to the collection. I think Italeri do one, maybe I'll have a look around..... Cheers, Sam

Sam...I know you wouldn't normally do the bigger scales, but from what I've seen in the kit, you'd enjoy this'n!!! ....Bob,yer right there fella......I do like my helos!!!! Steve, yup!! Lotta bits in this kit,and if it goes together like the Lynx,it should be enjoyable ......As I said when I first posted this thread,it wasn't my intention to start this yet, just to show you guys what's in the box!!!!!
