Hi fellows, As the T-55 Drozd is coming to a close (im yet to post its pics ), I checked my shelf for some easy to build kits that can serve as side projects. I then noticed that I have an old DML BRDM-2 kit which sits on my shelf while i also have the newly tooled BRDM-2 kit from Trumpy. Looking at the DML kit, I had an idea to convert it to something else (it's cheap so if i fooled around it wont hurt that bad hahahaha!). I wondered and researched about the ZS-82 propaganda and agitation vehicle upgrade of the BRDM-2. Basically it is a BRDM-2 chassis that was devoid of the heavy machine gun and co-ax but had a big boom box on the top of the turret . What this crawler do is to broadcast propaganda on enemy soldiers and civilians. Photos show that they were used in Afghanistan. Here is my build so far. The speaker will be polished and primed to smoothen the rough edges, Im just wondering how to make canvas for the speaker covers. Any ideas gents? Thanks a lot guys! Iking[/div]

Nice little conversion! You could use some tissue paper to serve as the canvas covers for the speakers.

That's one real cool looking! I don't think it will ever work on me no matter how loud you can turn it up I can't hear anything.

Thanks WBill, Leon and Deafpanzer! This is quite an obscure vehicle that we rarely see on pics so it struck my interest to convert a an old cheapo DML kit. Im really surprised on how many variants does the BRDM-series has! The canvas are done already. I used the suggested technique of using a tissue paper that is soaked (brushed) with a white glue-water solution. It worked well for me as I was able to mold it to make it sag on the upper part of the speaker. Here are some photos of the WIPs: The speaker assembly is mounted already and primed for painting: All set for base coating! Thanks again for the help guys! Cheers! Iking

Yep, the tissue (and white glue, I forgot to mention the white glue part...) solution came out great, looks good and once painted will be a nice in-scale rendition. Keep it up!

Thanks Leon, Dicky, Bill, TRM and Multicam! The tissue/white glue combination is a new learning for me. I knew it was an old trick but its just now that i am contented with its results. My past attempts made the tissue look stiff hahaha! The kit is 95% done and will probably post the finished pics soon, hopefully by end of the week. Im just detailing it a bit and adding some accessory to give it more 'life'. Right now, I am still at awe on the countless variants of the BRDMs and I still have the Trumpeter BRDM-2 test shot for me to ponder on ....Hmmm.... cheers! Iking
