Well with my Diiorama well underway i thought i better have something else to try out some AK products on. This is the new Trumpeter BMP1 kit there are a few minor errors to correct but like T55 depends on where when and who built it mine will be joining other models on a long term project the Afgahan Graveyard. so heres were we are at almost built and ready for fun. . Yep.....all steel welded construction as far as I know Luigi I'm probably confusing it with a later BMP...

OOHH- I'm looking forward to this. Luigi- the BMD has an alumninium hull with steel turret. I had orginially thought of doing mine as a rusting hulk, but on discovering it was mostly aluminium I decedied to just paint the bleedin' thing. p

Hmmmmmm....I'm confused "The BMP-1 is a fully amphibious tracked vehicle, with a front-engined chassis developed especially for it, a welded steel hull with a sharp, sloping front with a conspicuously ridged surface, a centrally located, flat, truncated cone turret and a troop compartment at the rear.[21]" "It also had large steel armored skirts fitted to the sides of the hull covering the suspension" I'm not familiar with ANY single skinned aluminium AFVs apart from the Swiss variant Warrior 2000 which was an all-welded ally hulled vehicle that never made production. Honestly fellas this really is news to me and I would love to hear more I've seen loads of piccies of rusty BMP's and am now wondering if that is from fixtures and fittings or Ferric particles within the radar absorbent paint?? HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLPPPPPPP!!! BMP-1 is made of steel, Paul was saying that BMD is made of alu I did a fast research and some sites say that BMP-3 is made of aluminium alloy, and that's what confused me, probably.

Thanks guys i needed some armour time. I HAVE SEEN A FEW REMARKS OF LATE IN FAVOUR OF POST SHADING. This i also find better then pre shading as it gives more control. i will post shade some of the larger rust areas in the same way. '. DSC07503 by macmcconnell, on Flickr. I agree with Guy, your style is very realistic. The BMP looks like some iron left to rust outside...
