Belgian Scale Modellers Convention 2011 (PHOTOS)

Hi fellas,

I don't assume many of you will come over to Belgium for this show but still I want to announce it ;D

December 10th and 11th there's the Belgian Scale Modellers Convention 2011 (formerly known as the Lier Convention) near the historical town/city of Lier in Belgium. Last year it was the first Belgian show I visited and the models were most impressive and of a high standard.

I have entered three models this year in their comp and hope to bring back some more prizes.

I must say it was a great show: the standard was very high and there were international competitors again. The Belgian Scale Modellers Convention is organised by 'Modelbouwclub Lier', a modelling club of the small town of Lier, it's most known member is Mario Eens.

The Hornisse/Nashorn variations were popular...I think there were 3 or 4 at the show

A very big kitty (I think 1:16), pitty he didn't do an effort to scratch some engine coolers and engine compartments, because the empty motor compartment was visible through the grilles, besides that it was a great model.

Wow Wouts...truly some tremendous builds!!! Thinking you had a fine time sir!!! Yup, that rusty stuff was doing it for me!! Too many I like to even tell you about!!....There is one though....The little Italian guy on the first page...does look a bit familiar!! Did he win the same $1 raffle I did? ;D Not bad BTW, think he is missing a couple things but not bad at all!!

HIya Jaymes, thanks buddy, the Bergepanther was 1:72 if I'm not mistaken, pretty impressive ey? And nope, I built the Merk last year, and these pics are from 2011. It sure wasn't a bad specimen though

btw, the Merkava AND NachtPanther got published in the showreport of the show at Eindhoven in Januari's MMI mag
although the text going with the Merkava states it's a Silver winning one from someone else. Sadly it was the no medal winner built by me ;D
