...and tonight, a little work on the mouth. Also preparing some more grub-like details on the torso:

Have some progress! Hope I've not gone OTT on the torso detail. I know it looks busy, but it'll make sense once you see some painted photos. It makes it look much more grub-like and like its bursting out of its skin / unitard (or whatever you want it to be!).

This is as close to a finished pic' of the green we will get. There is still some work left to do, but will require removing the torso from its cork. I'm then hardly gonna glue it back together to take a photo am I? Hope you like. I will share a photo of the individual components later on.

Nice to see it all together especially since it may be the last one! Nice progress on the whole piece. Don't worry, there will be some good pic's of the first resin cast, once received and assembled! Will be a good opportunity to finally demonstrate how it should look :-)

Well, it's been an exciting 24 hours and I now have my first batch of resin casts. Having looked at a few I am proud to say that they have come out great - the caster has done a first rate job! The legs and hands are split between two sprues and the torso as an individual piece. Removing the parts from their sprue requires nothing more than a pair of clippers and a sharp knife. A little thought and care is required but there's nothing taxing here. It didn't take me long at all to remove and clean up the parts. Over the weekend I will get an assembly shot together!

Thanks guys! I've started assembling one tonight. It fits together best with a blob of putty in each joint. The legs are nicely in place and it stands level on all six feet too! Once cured (in the morning) I'll attach the arms and take a few photos :-)

Anyway, here's the money shot: I found that the best way to assemble this kit was with a blob of green stuff in each joint. This allows positioning (and posing) of the limbs as the putty cures.

Thanks for the comments guys! Casts have been really well received by customers so far and the positive reaction has made me very happy :-) I've just finished a new illustration to help promote the casts, I hope you like it: For anybody interested in a cast you can send me a PM or email "madclownminiatures at hotmail.co.uk". I hope to have a few more WIP threads posted here soon :-)
