Thanks fellas and glad you dig the chipping. jackwagon once you start with chipping then you'll want to do more...lol Ok got a bit of time at the bench today and worked on the exterior of the Nashorn. Chipping, streaking and other effects added. i can't pop up too many pics or my PB account will fill up again, but you can find lots of pics of the painting and weathering on my website here.... Rob, Rob, Rob... please do tell us how you managed to make those killer scratches especially below the numbers '322'!!! They look frigging AWESOME! Hairspray? Or very fine paintbrush made of your nose hair? Please do tell... LOL
If you do tell us, I promise I won't tell the cops about your telescope...

Thanks for checking in and commenting fellas. Andy it was very easy...AK paint and fine tipped brush is all.
I did all the dark brown chipping and started on the wheels and sprockets, but nothing major to warrant an update yet. I still need to glue some tracks up for this one. If I get the time this weekend then I will wrap up the weathering and start some tracks.

That's all?!?!? You made it sound way too easy... no special weapon or anything? Those are one of best chipping & scratching job I have seen... no wonder you are the Boss here.

LOL thanks Andy. They could have looked better if I used a better brush like the AK ones. I used an older fine tip but it has seen better days. Was in a rush to get them on. I try to get as much quality time in when I get the chance so it's all done pretty quick....bang em out..lol

I got the weathering as far as I wanted to have it for the next step, applying new markings. I decided from the start to apply white stars showing a new owner, US forces. With the chipping done and most of the streaking applied, i then sprayed some OD Green color over the German crosses being sure not to cover the crosses completely. Next came the AK dry transfers. The were applied by simply rubbing the star onto the desired area. Once the two stars were on I then added some light scratches using a pointed toothpick. Next will be getting the wheels and sprockets done, as well as some earth effects.

Got to love the 'under new management' twist! Especially the OD panel and the crossed-out markings...gives it some real character.
