The tunic is MIG Field Grey Oil. The trousers are MIG Field Grey with Mig German Ochre oil to lighten. The Field Grey just don't look right to me,is it really just a dark green? Is there someway to save this without stripping and starting over or is it OK to go ahead and add the shading? I've got a pretty good inventory of oils, mostly W/N Thanks for the help Tony

How about now I also took the high light field grey and made a thin wash and went over the trousers to put a hint of grey hue to them. Tony

Really like the realistic flesh tones you have created. Oil paint blending capabilities are hard to describe until you try them and since you have stated you have some of the oils by MIG means to me you are new to oil paint usage. Good for you. Some modellers I know are terrified by the word OILS. Another way of helping oil paint to dry a bit faster and take some gloss out of it is to place your dab of paint on a piece of card stock (like the card stock used for matting artwork) after 20 minutes it absorbs a certain amount of oil then take the pigment balance and put on non absorbent palette. While waiting for oil painted figure to dry I some times put my wet palette in the freezer to delay its drying till I get back to my figure. I never try to finish a figure in one sitting, patience is needed and is rewarded. Cheers eh!
