That is interesting! For what purpose though? Only one side is taped. Maybe some early slow motion speed photography?

T,the whole car is taped like this.After this is done photos are taken and then taken back to AMT and some how scaled down so they can make a mold of this for there plastic model.

Hmmm, If its taped for measuring for a model then one side is all they need right? Just duplicate the measurements for the other side? Heck i dont know....its a sweet hot rod though!

That's a pretty neat set of photos. It's the 'old school' way of creating scaled down models from representations. Essentially you use a common frame of reference in the photo (think like those rulers they use in all the CSI-type shows) and then establish the measurements from the tape lengths and voila! Instant scale reference for recreating 3-D from 2-D.
