Cee Bee, that is one sweet lookin Jet Aircraft buddy! Seems a nice kit too. Gary, the kit is just fine! They must have done something to the old moulds, because this looks like a brand new kit, compared to the old offering. If you want to see what these things were like,do a search on YouTube...Awesome!!!!!I think it still holds the record for a climb from 0-40000 ft,not bad eh?

Great start there CeeBee - the EEL is a fantastic piece of kit manufacture and yer look to be doin' it justice.....I'm NOT goin' to crack any jokes about you building models of teh exciting new planes you saw at air shows when you were a kid and ask when we're gonna see the Sopwith and RE5 but I will say..... Yoo were able to fit into the cockpit of a 1/48 Lightning at the age of 9? Hahahahahah..........wha?? They did? Who did? Bill? Bill who? Not Bill P!! Yer kiddin' right? I've got THAT predictable eh? I Swallowed!!!!!!!

Cee Bee, I went to YouTube and watched some vids on the Lightning. That was a mean MoFo! I saw the vid saying even today, nothing has gone as high as fast as it has. Thats impressive in this day and age.

This may come as a shock, but I have another update. But this time on the Javelin. You may remember that I wanted to show the Javelin airborne. This meant that I needed 'Chaps' to sit in the 'pit.I did purchase 2 AM guys, but I opted to use one of them,as RO,and the pilot from the Lightning. Last nite, and this morning I slapped a bit of paint around, and then tucked the 2 fellas neatly into the the tub,and this is how they look.... And lastly,a shot over the pilots shoulder, showing the IP decal Once the tub was closed up,this enabled me to assemble all of the sub assemblies into what we now have...One piccy for scale.. And finally, the wing root joins for Starboard lower, and Port upper...I am VERY impressed with the fit here.... All in all,I have been well chuffed with the overall standard of this, one of the very latest Airfix offerings, and if their 1/24 Typhoon comes close to this standard, which I believe it will surpass,us wingyists will be in for a REAL treat of modelling in about 6 months time!!!!!

Leon,Gary...cheers fellas for looking in,Both aircraft have something about them I like, but ESPECIALLY the Lightning. Bill,These new Airfix kits are certainly up there with some of the very best now,fit wise!! Still helps to dryfit,JUST in case, and interior detail could be better, but to be honest, when she's buttoned up,not a lot gets seen. Hey Boss, thanks for looking in ,and Phil, cheers fella!! Dicky,Yeh,the 'chaps' don't look to bad under normal scrutiny....ie no bins, and eyes shut!! ,but they'll do,just cos I want to show this airborne. As for the lines of the Javelin, gotta agree there mate....she was one purty looking wingy,eh?

Much like yer goodself fella, curvatious in a purposeful and aerodynamic fashion...... You always say the NICEST things, mate!! Ok,first update of ANYTHING this year, and I have returned to the Skyraider for a while, just because the urge to build is so strong, and because me paint sprayer is off sick at the moment,so the two CW jets are waiting in the paint shop! There was also the fact that I REALLY don't need to start another ferkin build! My main focus of attention over the last couple of sessions has been the noisy bit up front.... After I had done all that,I just had to see how she shapes up so far.... Added the paint pot for an idea of scale...and next a bit of the detail inside the wing fold.. and the last pic shows the gun barrels,as supplied by Dickies favourite manufacturer!!! This 'Raider might not be up to the standard of the ZM kit,but so far I have had no major fit issues,AND this comes with ALL the ordnance you could wish for, although not all is pertinent to the Korean conflict.I WILL be getting the later version next time I see it at a decent price. As is the norm here, any comments, good, bad, indifferent are welcome....it's just good to know people are looking in,eh?

Evening Chris. Nice work you've got going on here. Its good to see some paint on the Javelin in the business end. What AM figures are you using? I have the new Airfix kit and I want do it Airborn so need a figure for it. Hopefully see some paint on the Javelin soon? It was good to see you at Scale Model world. I hope you can get over the painting situation Its not good. Especially as you're a great model builder. Keep it going love the detail on the Skyraider in the wing. Its crying out to be painted.

Jaymes,I still have the details knocking around somewhere for the figs.I only used one of the ones I bought, and he is the Radio Op in the back. The jockey is the one out of the Frightning i'm doing at the mo as well!Daft thing is,the guys who do the figs were at SMW,but that was AFTER I had ordered the darn things!!!! If you want, you can have the second chap I haven't used, although I did have to do some surgery to him,Douglas Bader styleee!!!!

Jaymes...next time you look in....This is the fella i used... www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NATO-Pilot-seated-cold-war-1-48-resin-figure-/121229174478Dicky....yes those were clear, and TBH,they have been the worst fitting parts of all.As for WHY they're clear?....I haven't got the faintest scooby mate!! It might have made a bit of sense if they had supplied a clear engine cowl, just so you can show off all that luvverly donk detail, but as I'm not gonna do that(Realism over artistics ),I'll only be painting what MAY get seen by somebody who's ferkinnosey enough!!! Edit....Dicky...You ok for receiving a visitor Saturday morn, usual time?

Gary,Pete...Cheers for the looksee,gents!...Gary,if I have read things correctly, the Spads used in 'Nam had additional armour plate added around the 'pit area,as well as a few other mods....The one I intend to do is a USMC version used in the Korean conflict,so I've had to do a little bit of reasearch(Not a strong point with me!!),1..to ascertain a realistic weapons load out,and 2..would said weapons be loaded on folded wings??? This has been sorted now, because I would rather be accurate as to how the a/c would/could be stored,as opposed to throw everything on it for artistic purposes.(For that reason alone, all that can be closed, will be!! ) One other thing I DID find out,..I think I've fitted the wrong ferkin cannons!!!
