Sorry gentlemen for the very late reply .Gets bad when you can't even keep track of yer own thread!!! OJ,your right there mate, those guns shouldn't take too long to sort.Might even beef up the barrels with some Albion Alloys tube..I've got some, somewhere! Bill,Paul, thanks for looking in fellas, and dead right there Bill,I made best use of my free time off sick ,but back to normal now,not so much bench time..... Chris, good to see you're keeping an eye on me mate. ..Yer right, that donk has some great detail, that's all going to get hidden, when it gets mounted finally.I'm getting good at these big radials,I've got a couple of other builds off forum, that have near on the same power unit. Lui,these three here now,are just the tip of the build 'iceberg' mate!! Steve, brush paint will be the way to go on the engine, because most of it won't be seen Nowt more to say right now, apart from the fact I HAVE had a bit of time at the bench, but nothing worth reporting at the mo.

Isn't it funny how you have less time when you're well and more when you're sick? I think you may have stumbled on the magic formula CB! Although being sick all the time might be detrimental to your health in the long run.

Bill, silly thing is I wasn't 'Sick' sick,It was just that because of the meds,my Doc didn't want me driving any distance,IF at all!!!Agreed,I got outta breath VERY quickly, but I could function pretty well,if I took it steady. ...And as my mate Neems has already said, building ain't my problem..

Dan,you know me by now mate,.....I can ramble on about nowt for ages On Wednesday,I'm hoping to get the OK to start ABing again, with the masks that Steve M kindly supplied. I want to try and get the 2 CW whooshies sorted, paint wise, before the 300+ decs have to go on!!!!.It would be nice to have something of mine on the MSC tables this year!!!...I've only got the UHU so far!!(And that needs repairs!) Marc, nice to see ya fella, although I am a bit confused??.....You mentioned nice choice on the figs?..that for the Javelin,eh?....and then the gun barrels.....Spad?....Just wanna get things clear in my mind, afore I do what you 'Colonials' do,and plead 'The Fifth'!!!

Now I'm confused but I thought it because of the soup bowl sized Margaritas... several... I just guzzled. Gun barrels def the Spad. I went back a few more pages and I now realize there is more than one bird in the nest in this thread. Sure glad I had some tequila to straighten myself out. But Shhhhh... don't tell anyone it took me 20 minutes just to type this. I am not the only one a bit buzzed here. the forum just tried to spell check Shhhhh into Chihuahua

As some of you are well aware,I have ongoing problems with the ole CeeBee chesticles,so although there are a vast choice of builds ready for ABing,at the moment that is a no,no...AGAIN....As a consequence, the ole building moje kicked in,and over the last week or so I've had a bit of bench time with a wingie, and a Target .. The wingy is an old ICM kit of a MiG 3,AND I was pleasantly surprised by what I've seen so far... For 1/48,some nice basic detail, that will all get covered up....and a couple of shots of the pit, just tacked in place for the piccy opportunity Just got to pick out the details in the pit,and add a couple of decs, then on to the next stage....

Thanks chaps, for popping yer heads in for a look see,on what must be one of the most boring threads on the forum.. Like you said jackwagon,I've heard good and bad about these ICM kits, but for the price(These were freebies!),a little bit of fettling, and maybe a bit of extra detailing, hopefully they'll turn out ok. ( This is a 15 year old model, after all!)

To be honest Andy, like I said,it WAS a very pleasant surprise.Don't get me wrong,it ain't Tammy by any means,no locating pins, and vague destructions, but the quality of the plastic mouldings is pretty, darn good!! Just remains to see what sort of a Pigs ear i'll make of it,eh?

OK chaps, sorry for the late reply...... OJ,thanks for popping in,and the well wishes. It's an ongoing situation I'm afraid, won't get better, but hopefully it'll get more manageable ,given time.. Lui,Andy,Bill..believe me,if anyone can make a sows ear out of a silk purse,it'd be me.. Sapper,,when I looked here earlier this morning,I determined I was gonna have the full English, and I DID!!! (Won't need a nosebag on fer 2 days now!!! ) Anyway, reason I'm her this time of day...bit more on the MiG,kicked off a Yak 9dd,and laid a bit of 'P' stuff on a third wingy First up is the MiG....mostly together, just got to sand and rescribe a few bits, and when I've picked up some more primer, she'll be going outside for a bit of grey... About the only other things I've done here, was open up the gun apertures in the top engine cowl, and drill out the zorsts,Oh,and split the aelerons into 2 parts,as per my refs Next is the Yak 9dd,this is a LOT more like the ICM we've heard about...soft detail, poor moulds..yadda,yadda..won't go on,this is just for the building therapy... and these were more like kitchen sinks, than plastic sinks.... No more on that one for a while, methinks!!! And finally,in this thread,is the main item, the Javelin...... Yesterday morning,a bit of bright stuff in the sky,a light breeze, and the old girl got a dose of primer, and then she got a shiny bottom!!!,so that's where she sits at the moment.Primer was Model Mates grey, and the shiny was Halfords brand 'Chrome' Off now to have a lie down in a darkened room,to get meself fit for updates elsewhere... See you soon!!

Those sinks look nasty on Yak! Don't let it win... filling 'em with bacon grease should take care of it.
Javelin looks AWESOME! Made me realize wings are way too BIG!
