Hi one and all, it has been some time since I last posted, am afraid the old mojo went south and had plenty to keep me occupied on other fronts. Hopefully things are on the move, a few failed attempts to get the modelling fire burning again, and here is my latest attempt, so fingers crossed !. Kit is the excellent Eduard 1/48 P-38 Early Lightning (Limited Edition) kit. It consists of Academy plastic with Eduard Brassin cockpit, wheels and some engine intakes & turbo-chargers, along with PE for the cockpit and wheel wells. 5 decal options by Cartograph. Not an expert in this area, but it is a real nice kit, little clean up of the plastic or resin. This is my first aircraft in a long long long time, but I am well chuffed with progress on the pit so far, with about 3 hours work in total. Main cockpit area. Side walls (second one is a little out of focus) Seat with coloured PE belts As always, comments most welcome, and it is good to be back. Chris.

Hey Gary, thanks for dropping in. Maybe I'll actually finish this one and in reasonable time too,
ChrisB, serious chum. Apart from a partially built 1/72 C-27 I stared a few weeks back, the last windy thing I I'd must have been a 1/72 Vulcan back in '91 or '92 before I did my 'big school' exams.
I have Bret Greens book on airbrushing and finishing which was kindly donated by Chris.S, between it and his guidance /encouragement, I've done far better than I thought. Now just to get it closed up and onto the U/C bays.
Fingers crossed,

Weekly Update folks, have to say am really enjoying this build, and the mojo is definitely returning. Thanks Leon, ChrisS, wbill76 & wing-nut for stopping by, hope you like this update. Geek44, touch wood, the Academy base kit is all good so far, although the main wheel wells have a poor fit, and the mounts for the U/C do not align. Well a few pictures to show progress, pit is now complete and set in the fusalage. I decided to add a little additional detail to the main UC bays to supplement the supplied PE. I know the pipework is not 100% accurate, but I just wanted to fill it up a little. And then a coat of Zinc Chromate before applying a wash, some black bits and dry-brushing. Hope you like, and again all comments welcome. Chris.

Add-ons do a good job of populating the UC bays Chris. Nice work on that office space as well.

Thanks chaps for stopping by, comments and encouragement as always very much appreciated.
Tony, I was a little worried about the resistor myself, but it looks ok, and once the U/C is in place" very little can be seen.
Dicky, don't worry chum....I have not gone to the dark side. Wrapping up Zeus is next on the list, and have loads of armour kits gathering dust, but I must admit there is a 1/48 Eduard Bf-110D and Tamiya's 1/32 F-4J Phantom sitting on the bench also !
Chris.
