Chronologically speaking, Tarawa was the first time the Marines used the M4. No wading gear, no waterproofing, and bad tides severly hampered the crews, but the Sherman proved it's worth in the south Pacific. Here's "Chicago" This is the DML "Tarawa" kit (go figure) an M4A2 early with a Tigermodels nose piece and a scratchbuilt jerry can rack. I used Panda tracks and Archer transfers. Straight Tamiya OD weathered with enamels and I used a drybrush technique supplied by my friend and former coworker Bob Letterman. G
