So, I had one last Fallschirmjager from Dragon's Hedgerow Tank Hunters kit. I kinda started him a while back, and this past week I gave it another shot. Here's what we started with after I tore him apart: Nasty looking, eh?
I cut off the hands, took a Gen2 kit hand, and a hand from a different kit, and made this: Ripped pants Started giving him new gear MP40 pouch was sanded down and bent to look empty... Hornet head! Some FJ's had stalhelms, here's proof: Added pistol Sanded the pocket, resculpted it and added the tip of a stick grenade Gas mask Splinter camo was painted with Vallejo, I don't think it's perfect, but it'll do Panzerschreck More paint, and an MP40 The streaks in the splinter pattern came out wrong, and weren't easy at all, but this is only my first real attempt at this camo pattern And the face is finished... Ready to apply the panzerschreck Added the panzerfaust, a lot of decals for such a small thing This will go with him on the little base The concrete emplacement was painted with 50 cent acrylics, given a wash, and some AK Interactive goodies.
So that's that, and I'll be looking for a good base over the next few days.
Thanks for looking!
-Conor

Thanks guys. I can see him either in Cassino or around St. Lo, sort of a sole survivor of his unit. That's why he's so up-gunned He actually started off as this guy on the far left- I like him much better now though

Looks good, Conor. Can't wait to see it based! That set, 'Hedgerow tank hunters' is probably one of DML's best. I know I had some fun with it too! Just out of interest, take a look at Jeff Shiu's latest 120mm's. Here You might get a little surprise.... All the best, mate! Gary

Thanks guys, it was only a small conversion but I think it really came together well. Gary I agree. I'll have buy the set again sometime to do this to all the figures! That would make for a cool scene. I do like the FJ vignette you did a while back. That made me want to make one haha & I can't wait to get Jeff Shiu's 2 FJ figures. I've been checking them out for a while and I suppose I'll cave and buy them at some point -Conor

Gentlemen, he has a base. Went to Michaels, bought a few wooden plaques, and: I added Sherman tread prints while the plaster was still soft, so now he's got a trail to follow...Footprints were added as well. I loved how the pigment worked on the base & his pants/shoes. Close-up Spare wheel & fuel cans from a Tamiys set... And this is what's in the works: Groundwork was plaster, acrylic paint and washes, followed by AK mud effects and pigments. As I said, the tings and wheel are from Tamiya. Concrete structure is from Farina Enterprises, so check out that site, and the pipe Celticwerks, which is also a great little company. This guy looks like he could use a touch up here and there, but other than that, this project is done. This was a spur of the moment project, and I think it came out great Thanks for looking! -Conor
