Thanks Leon............always appreciate ya droppin` by with the kind comments mucka Well i`ve been doing a bit of scavenging from a more modern day vehicle for bits to use on here, the idea i have for this is just pure artistic licence.............the underneath i`m gonna bring up to date much like a custom built rod would have been.......so i`m at this stage.........but there is a big problem and i`ll explain why!! This is her with a trial run back end..........the differential and axle system are from a spare modern day race car and allow me to be able to use the modern low profile race tyres and rims............the diff and axle will need a bit of jiggery pokery but with all the modern race stuff fitted i.e...brake discs etc, etc it`s worth taking a punt with it.........heres how it looks at the mo Now here comes the part that completely blows it out the water...... The tyres are all one size..............which means.............yep, the fronts are too wide and there is not a dam thing i can do about it Bummer huh!!!!! I liked the look the new rear end gave tho............shame!!

Boots, don't give up Dude, there's got to be a way to narrow up those front tires. I was going to suggest wider rear tires but you beat me to it Here are a couple of ideas that might work. 1.If the new rims are the same diameter as the old ones, you could cut a section out to narrow them and use the old front tires. 2. Could you cut the center out of the new rims, trim them down, cut the centers out of the old rims, and blend the two? Jeff T. P.S. Are you sure you haven't been to Bonnyville in another life or something?

Hey Jeff and thanks fella, the new rims are much bigger and the old front tyres are road tyres so the rear low profiles wouldn`t match with them, the second option would still have the tyre issue as well...........cutting the wheel thinner is no problem but there is no way i could cut the tyre too match................i`ll have too check my shop sites to see if i can source some low profile narrow tyres!!
Thanks buddy

Hey Mark cheers buddy, like to keep ya entertained..............bit like watching a monkey with a hammer `eh Yeah the tyre issue is a real bind............i can get round it but i`d really liked to have used them!!, still have plan B,C,D tho Cutting and grinding the tyre down would be a no-no really coz they are the focal point of the car and you would be hard pushed to get a really nice edge on the tyre........don`t get me wrong as it had crossed me mind matey

Yes,I was thinking RCGB myself, and I've got something picked out.But I need to order some styrene sheet to go with it and I have no idea as to what thickness I should get.I would be scratching a hood scoop in 1/25th.

Hey Mark , yeah they are the rubber type ones mate...............there just does not seem to be any available stock for this sort of thing at all...............i found plenty of sets of tyres and 99% are from the states, however i can`t find anything suitable for the front wheels, these are a 20mm inner with a 13mm width, they are ok for the rears but i need a 20mm inner with a 5-7mm width for the front..... , i`ll persevere tho matey Look forward too seeing the new bike buddy..............man you really have been hooked , Typical regarding the Karmaan Ghia, you have the same sort of luck as me by the sound of it matey Jeff.........that`ll be great if you join in on the RCGB...............as for styrene sheet, i`m a novice regarding sizes but i find that a collection of 0.5mm-1.5mm suitable for most stuff, you can always gauge it better when it`s in front of you as well, i think they may do even thinner than 0.5 but not certain..............i`m still a relatively new styrene virgin , Dicky is the man to ask but he`s on a sabbatical at the mo, you can type in styrene sheet/Evergreen etc on E Bay and lots come up, you`ll be able to see the various thicknesses!!, if you type in styrene rod you will find all the different sizes and shapes which are available..............i did have a couple of links but i lost them when i had to take my computer back to factory settings ...........hth fella and see you in the RCGB

Thanks Steve.............i did as well but it`s a no go on them i`m afraid , just can`t source the low profiles in the sizes for the fronts so i`m using plan `B`, sticking with the rear race diff and stuff but using the original rod wheels, these will look ok once they are painted up...........also the front end has got some new larger disc brakes awaiting... Final mock up for height and stance.........lots and lots of tidying up to do so these will be the last few pics for a while, It`s a right mess at the mo but trust me, things will get better (ish)..........i`m just happily listening to the little voices in my head telling me what to do next and going with the flow:|!!! Cheers fellas
