Without yet again raising the debate as to "what color is 4B0green really?" I have a question. I have a good supply of Tamiya which is my "go to" AB paint. I really don't want to buy yet another green paint for one tank, a KV I, so I'm thinking NATO Green with a dab of Dunkelgelb to get me in the ball park. Let the thoughts, suggestions, flames, curses and what not begin. G

G...at the risk of getting everything, including the kitchen sink, thrown at me....throw some green of any sort at the kit, then play around with washes/filters etc, until you get where you're comfortable. In my few years on forums etc, this is an ongoing debate,wherever...As far as I've seen,it's down to the modeller, what he feels looks right!

Thanks Chris. That's pretty much what I've been thinking.

I don't see how you could go wrong with mixing those colors. Just play around with the mix untill YOU are happy with it.

G, for my eyesight, the 4BO green looks like Tamiya Dark Green played with a lil flat green or white to present wheathering Im sure your build and own paintmix using the nato green + gunkelgelb will do also and it will be a stunner:) cheers! Iking

I agree with all the folks above. 4BO was so depending on the maker and the weathering that no tank was like another (or nearly so). So feel free to go the way you think it works best

Beautiful!
Thank you all.
I am a firm believer in the "LAR" method, looks about right, but I just wanted to confirm my belief.

Wow,I didn't know there was a KV-1 variant of a Sherman !!! Looking forward to your new build "G"
For what it's worth I use Tamiya NATO Green with the filters and weathering for Soviet stuff
