Hello all...
Well, this will be a premiere for me. In most cases I can be found in the SciFi/Fantasy corner as well as in the figure and diorama area. This will be the very first step into the "classic" armored vehicle direction, so please be gentle 
The object of desire was a bargain from a near very small hobbyshop: Ist an
EMHAR Mk.IV "Female" tank
To be honest, I just bought it cause "...it looks cool" and... it was cheap - so if this one wont come out as good as I want it, I had my fun and it doesnt hurt too much.
This model will - as always - get a neat little surrounding. Probably a trench-scene and some figures. And thats the point: I searched a little for WWI extras, and theyre rare. Plus in some cases they dont fit my personal taste of correctness and/or value.
Example: The Revell 1/72 figures - too static, too SOFT [you dont really WANT to paint those... bah!]... So I ordered a pack of French and German soldiers from Airfix. 5,50 € and delivered in three to four days. Several Reviews said: worth the price! YAY!
Further plannings are little corrections like the MGs. Think a drugstore is a good idea [seperately sold cannulas]?!
And yes, Im gonna need your help for this one. Definetely

which markings are you going to add? I have photos of F2 flirt which is in Lincoln. That is the home of the tank were Fosters factory was situated.

Preiser? Hmmm. I knew there were some - any experiences with CMC and/or Caesar Miniatures? Im a bit afraid of Caesar - they make really cool stuff [used their pigs and greenery like cactus for the dombie diorama] What abouth the "Female" so far?! Of course I didnt want to share just the package Picture with you so here comes the first WIP-related picture. When I travelled back from my girlfriends home today, I made a spontaneous visit to my favourite antique/2nd hand shop. I bought for example all the technical stuff for my steampunk costume there and I knew they still have some interesting cogwheels for me. This one was formerly used in a GDR bike drive wheel or something. Diameter ca. 10 cm. Supposed to become a base - top will be covered with a plastic sheet circle.  |

Huh... So many questions to answer deafpanzer: No worries mate. Someone told me it looks like a "piece of cake" that base. From this point of view.... Mmmh... YES! blankingline: You know what? Im pretty new here and already feel home cause of people like YOU. Thanks so much for those pictures, theyre really great and helpful. DickyF: Well, that really depends on the project itself. A base is an absolute "must have" for my models. In some cases, like this particular one, I have to wait until "special goods" arrive, here it is the figures and Im stuck into literature and the search for as many details of the Panzer as I can get. It flows... And until I cant start with the "main actor" itself - Ill take the time to create the suroundings. Anyways, every modeler has his/her own way to start and finish a project - whatever it is. I know a modeller that almost went nuts about the specific color of the Pacific water for the base - but didnt mind about very special details of his aircraft carrier, cause he had all THAT in mind. Trz... |

Oh cool... Thank you! The base got now some customized toothpicks [loads!], more plastic Profile, haispray and White glue. As youmay have recognized, this one will be a 2-floored trench! Pictures follow...

Today I was kinda enthusiastic... After studying several pictures of trenches I decided for the 2-floor-variant. By using loads of toothpicks to recreate horizontal bars and plastic profile for the stabilizing bars [vertical] the result makes me quite happy. But this is still WIP of course, there will be more Details added. Thought of a lamp for the entrance in the Basement for example, some boxes and all that typical stuff that makes the Scene more authentic...   Cheerio... |

Another day... another update. Scratched trench lamp. I used a 1/35 Plus Model bottle here, cut its top of, sanded a bit here and there, added "minimali productions" 0.2mm lead wire, painted it Gold with MrHobby Color... and thats it. One-€-Cent-coin for size comparison.  Some branches from the garden give good trees. "Planted" them by drilling a little hole in the surface and glueing them with CA glue.    |

Thanks fellas. If I ever learned something about diorama modelling, then ist the little details that make the difference and make the dio look "alive". If you like it too, even better. Gives me some motivation Oh NOOOOOOO!!!! I just dropped my breakfast yoghurt on the base!  Just kidding. Thats thinned white glue to smoothen the upper surface Did this at noon, and when I came back from work 23pm, it looked really smooth and shiny. Just like it should. |

Thanks Leon & DP. Heres some more additions:    Food boxes and cylindric boxes from CMK, ladder was scratched [Evergreen profile]. A bud promised me additionally to the barbed wire from Extratech some small gun carriers. YAY! |

Yep, Im waiting for the barbed wire. Plus, my mate promised me 1/72 amo carts. On the other hand, Ill get him another "Female" tank and we start a private "Female" GB. Lol. Gotta convince him to share MSC, that all-too-sceptic Ore Mountaineer. Should arrive in the next days. Btw - for some Research I watched "All Quiet On The Western Front" yesterday, and saw a very interesting detail...  See those curly bars? Guess Ill scratch some to give it more detail. |

To all the doubters and non-believers.... and especially for ANDREAS, my friend To give evidence of the fact that i REALLY build a tank actually instead of a "surrounding only". Tadaaaa:   Convinced now? Base without tank, but with ExtraTech barbed wire. For test fitting only atm.   Same, same... but different Tried this method for the very first time too and it worked just perfect: sand bags made from PataFix - a sticky clay you normally use to fix posters etc. on yer wall.  Now... I declare the base "ready for painting!" |

Soooo. the base had been painted. To be more correct, like this: The base itself...1] Matt Black car primer over the whole base 2] a homebrew mud color consisting of several olive, brown and grey parts I cant remeber [sorry!] 3] highlights followed by using the same color mixed with lighter Grey and lighter Brown parts 4] "Come on kids.... ist washing time!!!" >> Games Workshop "Gryphone Sepia for all parts Detail painting:1] wooden parts got a greyish looking Brown [homebrew as well], plus a washing, then Highlights with medium grey/tan 1/1 2] wooden Sauerkraut boxes were painted in GW "Kommando Khaki" plus - yeah right! - washing. You know which one 3] Barbed wire got Testors "Burnt Steel" Final treatment:...is still in progress as you can see - the white liquid is thinned White glue, supposed to imitate rain effects/wet earth later.     |
