Hey brotha! Got some goodies i see. Since i got my AB repaired i been playin with the Lifecolors i have. It takes some practice as they are not as easy to spray as Tamiya. What ive learned what works best for me, is thinning with iso alcohol or windex even tried Iwata airbrush cleaner and worked ok. Dont shake up the bottle, insted use a stir stick. If you shake it creates bubbles that stay in the paint for a while and affect the spray making splatters. I mix in a separate little cup and pour into the color cup. I set the pressure to about 15 psi and i had to spray thin - multiple coats to build up the color. After several attempts this is where im at in the Lifecolor trials. I sprayed on the M3-Lee i told you about and let set overnight and was very pleased with how smooth it turned out and it seemed to bite pretty well too. I still loves my Tamiya but im comfy with the lifecolors now that i would use them in the AB no problem. Ill soon have me some AK AB Acrylics to try too! Also, if you only plan on using them to brush paint with them then never ya mind all that i just said!

I’m mainly going to brush paint the life Colors on this one. I bought the rust colors from the rust and dust set, and some oxide red for the primer color. I’m going to try the brush and sponge chipping method with the life colors. The main cammo colors will be from the AK late war set. But that info will come in handy down the road when I do Air brush them!!!

Not a lot of bench time lately, But I did manage to get most of the parts in step 1 cleaned up and assembled. A small section of the MK tracks were assembled to insure they would fit the drive sprockets. Now I’m going to skip forward and turn my attention to the interior so I can get it painted and the major hull components assembled.

Looking good! Can't say I've ever seen that type of return roller before...late-war only issue? All-steel return rollers were introduced on the StuG III starting in Nov 1943. Three different styles were used at various times between then and the end of the war. The type that are in BJ's kit are the simplest and last type of the three introduced so are considered a 'late' style introduced in mid-1944 or so (no real precise date for it due to stocks of other types and mix-and-match activity going on, etc.). Nice to see you get the wheels out of the way BJ, always a tedious but necessary step!

BJ that photo is real professional. Nice work too Tony lee Hey Tony, Thanks for the complements on the photos. It must be that new farmer rigged photo booth I made. The wife was VERY unhappy that I used baling twine in her house. By the way, the 3 silver lamps are heat lamps for livestock.

I know what they are BJ, i've got a few out here in the shed that I used to keep baby pigs warm. You've got enough wattage there to light up the city. Works a charm Tony lee
