Well one more find it's way from the hangar, some of you have followed it's construction elsewhere. It's Tamiya's 1:32 Phantom, made as a F4D from 8th TFW 497th TFS "Night Owls" they mainly flew night missions and where therefore painted black on the underside. It was mostly built out of the box, the only additions where seats + wheels and some etch around the cockpit. To be cont.

Beautiful build Jack...the Rhino has to be one of the all time classic aircraft of any era and you have turned out a stunner there.
What are your thoughts on the Tamiya Phantom, is it worth the price?
Did you build yours out of the box or did you add any AM?
Best regards
Eth

I'm not a fan of the aviation part of the modeling but I must say I really like how this clean assembly in the great paint job you have achieve. Congratulations. Cheers

Hi Jack,...my apologies for missing this superb build being posted mate.I know I've seen it before, but it's still worth saying what a great build this is!! If I remember correctly, didn't you put this in a dio with a tracked AD system?(Sorry, can't remember which one )

Thanks lads, glad you like . Eth - It's a very good kit, but I wouldn't say it's worth the high price (got mine cheap when I was in Singapore .) when compared to Revell's F4 (you can nearly get 2½ Revell kits for the price of 1 Tamiya kit) wich is in my opinion just as good a kit, Tamiya's only plus is the one piece body (no seam . the air intakes have a bad fit (you need to get some AM .). I did add some AM seats, etch around the cockpit glass + weighted wheels (the kit comes with rubber tyres whereas the Revell kit have both a set of weighted and non weighted wheels. CB - Apologies accepted mate ;D. This is not the one, the one you are thinking of are Revell's RF4E. That was made as an IAF I will post it in the dio section.

Thanks for the answers Jack. I was thinking of a Revell F4 and some AM parts anyway. There is something quite satisfying about adding "bits" to a kit Regards from the Swamp Eth
