Greetings and Salutations Folks Here's my recent build of the Tamiya Elefant TD, with stick-on Zimmerit. A total joy to build, but let down by being eyewateringly expensive. Especially as the necessary Zimmerit is an additional cost, pushing this to near £60 on RRP.

Simon,I'm not really into WWII Axis, but just the fact that you have posted a piccie of one of your builds, drew me to this thread.I cannot recall you posting piccies of any of your builds, although I have seen them at shows!Nice one mate, and keep them coming,eh?

Thank you for the generous comments. The main reason that I don't often post images of finished models is that they're usually magazine or other commission builds, and there's an agreed period before showing them outside their intended purpose. The Firefly seen elsewhere is being published this week, so isn't a problem. I've been meaning to spend more time here, but as some of you know there are other sites that take up a hefty amount of my time and energy. My efforts to live a quiet life continue to go horribly wrong... ? Simon

It's good for replicating worn/distressed Zimmerit, but it's no good for factory fresh. I suspect they used some museum pieces as reference for this as they invariably look flat.
IMHO Dragon have gone too far the other way with their Zimmerit, which looks too deep when looking at factory images of the time.
