Thanks for the replies. It's been a few weeks, but here's an update. This is the result of a lot of hours of testing, modifying, dryfitten, etc. The white piece of plasticard needs more work : Sincerely Pascal

Thanks mate.
I've contacted a person that produces PE-sheet, as I don't see myself repeating all this work 30 or 50 times over.
I think I'm stuck with Ferrari F40's for the next couple of years. And then the Porsches will be dealt with.
Strange how things can evolve, especially since I'm a Spitfire (Supermarine of course !) fanatic. Well I guess that my 30+ Spit kits will have to wait ...
Seasons Greetings everybody.

Very impressive work Pascal. Are you sure you're not just taking photos of the actual cars being built?

I wish I had been at the Ferrari plant in Maranello when these cars were build.
This project is my statement to companies like BBR, CMC and Exoto. I think it is not OK that they ask between 500 and 850 dollars for a 1/18 scale model that is sealed (no opening parts) and has very little detail.

The production line at Dupont Miniatures(*) : (*) : My last name is Dupont, I think that "Dupont Miniatures" will be a great brand name "And when you and your friends see a man or woman in uniform, say, "Thank you." George W Bush, jan 20 2004.

Well it started with 1, but since then the number has gone up. Currently the goal is to modify 15 BBurago's and 2 Hotwheels Elite, but the orders keep coming. I'm trying to find ways to make the production easier. A friend of mine has a CNC mill and he made 30 of these for me (the one in the picture is the prototype that I made from plastic strip) :

Pascal
I just found your build here and have to say that it is some very, very, impressive work using more different materials than I have ever seen in a build. I'm glad I found it and will be following along.

It's been a while, time for an update : Most of the work that I've done involves removing unwanted metal and filling gaps and holes. First one is this tube that holds the bonnet in place : This was removed with my Dremel and a coat of putty was applied to show where further sanding is needed. The damaged to the louvers will be repaired : The rear spoiler has a hole on both sides : This was filled with CA and flour and sanded. The rectangular holes are for the extra light for the american version of the F40 : The inside of the spoiler has a lot of unwanted metal : This was sanded down (this is the spoiler of the GT version , that why the central part with the louvers has been cut out) : The central part of the body received a couple of plastic strips : This will help the central part and cockpit adhere to the chassis : The bonnet also has holes on both sides : These were filled with a piece of plasticard : Glued with CA and flour and sanded to shape : Finally the rear spoiler received some plastic strips to help the bonnet align with the spoiler : Please feel free to comment. Sincerely Pascal
