Hi everyone! I'm happy to announce that IPMS Antwerp (I'm not a member btw) organises the Flanders Modelling Contest again in Hoboken on March 10th (that's Hoboken, Belgium, not Hoboken, NY ;D). www.ipms-antwerpen.be/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=12&Itemid=39It's the first contest I entered last year and this year I'll be entering contest again with three models: (just noticed on the facebook page of BSMC that Adam Wilder liked my Panther F btw, pretty proud of that Would be great to see some of ya but I guess probably chances are small ;D (but who knows some of our Belgian and Dutch members can be seen there?) Anyway, photos of the event will follow on this thread after March 10th Cheers

well, last weekend there was the Flanders Modelling Contest. I'll post up some shots. But first of all I have to apologise to Ron and Gert. Since I didn't have internet for well over two weeks I couldn't get in touch. Gert pm'd me his cell number but I hadn't put it into my cell yet, and I didn't know of which club Ron was part of, so sorry guys . Hope to see you at ModelForce this year Now then, the show. Well, I came home with one gong: Highly commended in the Naked Kit category for the Panther F. No gongs for the Tiger I and Elefant . This show left me a nasty taste to be honest . Sure it was a bit dissapointing to have no prizes for the Tiger I and Elefant but I could have lived with that fact if some models which deserved it won the prices in stead. I can't say that was the case though : the winner was a Initial Tiger I with pinmarks visible, a hatch in an unnatural position and sloppy paintwork. Second was a JagdPanther kit with also some very visible unremoved ejector pinmarks. Now I though it was maybe just me, but no, I heard some other guys complain as well. Second strange fact in my mind: the organizer of the show entered comp. as well, as well as some other members of the organising club. The winner in the Naked category was a Merkava with scratched parts, and was no doubt deserved (it was very nicely done I admit), but it was a kit produced by the clubs president...quite strange it seems to me. When Modelbouwclub Lier held it's MBSC at the beginning of this year , it's members didn't enter comp (amongst them Mario Eens). Anywhoo...I don't think I'll be goin' there next year again. So far my ranting...time for photos! ;D Cheers

Category SM3 (Military Vehicles 1:35 and larger, Out of the box - two sub categories: Standard and Advanced - also a 'special' thing: though the category states "out of the box", vehicles with PE and other upgrades had to enter this one as well...) Gold: Initial Tiger I (silvering on the decals, ejector pinmarks, untidy paintwork) Highly Commended: Jagdpanther: And Commended (I think): Other contenders: Well that's it for the photos. To end with a positive note: on the form which was lying underneath my Tiger I, someone of a Dutch magazine asked me if my Tiggy was for sale . I'm goin' to send the lad an email to mention that I'm not selling my first model but maybe I can get her in that mag that way ;D ;D ;D That's all folks ^^ Cheers

thanks dudes ^^, Robbo: yeah that MIG was unearthly, very cool done: the details were just stunning, which I wasn't able to really capture well on photo. Dicky: thanks mate: myeah, well, I think the Merkava deserved the win, no doubt a bout that: she looked great (and I guess with more scratched parts than my Panther LOL ;D), indeed unfinished but I think that was for ease of painting . About the Dutch magazine guy: he never replied my e-mail with the question if the Tiger could appear in his mag... ...Maybe he wanted to buy the Tiger to write his own article as if he built it ey ;D ;D ;D Nate: glad you liked the photos bud Cheers
