Stug III C/D L48

Hello boys and girls, my new project. Old Dragon Stug III C/D L48 in 1/35. This model of Stug or better say hybrid version, was/were used in the end of the war. I saw only one photograph of this vehicle. In documentation, this vehicles were in traning camps, used for traning panzer crews. When war came to the German border, small main guns were replaced with bigger 75mm L48 barrels. I`m not sure that this type of camo was really used, but I guess that repared vehicles (from beginning of war) were in original camo. Any way, here are a few pictures of my progress. I used AK grey primer and Tamiya colors for color modulation.

There are all kinds of oddities out there. Dark yellow ausf B, short barrel C/D with zim, G super structure on a B, etc.

One of my favorite odd-ball vehicles. Definitely an eye-catching choice on the scheme, ought to look very nice when completed momcha!

Thank you guys for following this one. It was a long ago when I build last Stug III. I have a lot of them in my stash and this project is really refreshing me. I`m still thinking, will be too much if I paint/weather "Saukopf" blende in rusty metal?

Small update, I was free all day, so I had a lot of time for this little fella Started with chipping and weathering, mix of brown and black colors. There is a lot to paint on lower chassis. Tracks are not finished jet. I used Tristar workable tracks for Pz III/IV. They are plastic, so I have to be careful not to break them. I also "made" wheels to be workable, cause Stug will be on diorama. More update soon.

I started working on diorama. I like diorama ruins, but I hate to paint brick by brick (those on ground) Here are few pictures how it looks like at moment. I also plain to put civil car on dio. Mini Art MB 170

Thank you fellas. I started with painting heads of grenadiers. Almost finished.
Stug crew is also almost finished. Few pictures how they should fit on the tank.

Story for this dio. will be: last month/days of WWII, Stug III get`s cover behind some ruins. Tank crew is waiting new wave of Red Army tanks,and suddenly goat appears. I read book abot Battle of Berlin called "Battle" author C. Ryan, that during Battle of Berlin, Berlin ZOO was heavy damaged, so animals flee into city streets and ruins. I got idea that will be interesting to place animal on dio, hungry and exhausted soldiers are happy cause they will have possible meat for lunch.
