Hello, When I was a little tired of painting my Sturer Emiel I started with the Neubaufahrzeug from Trumpeter, I have also The Amusing Hobby kit on the shelf and there is quite some difference. So instead of buying after market for the Trumpeter kit I bought another Amusing Hobby kit, it contains every thing I need and is better detailed. So kit bashing then. I thought replacing the turrets and little things from one to the other and it is OK because the 2 kits have the same external dimensions, but..... The front part of the trumpeter kit from the nose to the MG-turret and drivers place is 2 mm shorter, no worry I thought what is 2 mm, but the lay out of the fenders supports is different between nr 1 and nr 3 to nr 5 vehicles, when I dry fitted the Trumpeters fenders to the Amusing Hobby hull the supports came on top of the vision slit on one side and on the other side just before the upper hull floating in the air. So I prolonged the front of the Trumpeters fenders And now they fit, The side plate from the fender to the nose section had to be prolonged too This was the "difficult" part of the built I hope. Now it is just comparing pictures and building instructions of both kits. The major parts are already together, with the tracks in place, which was an annoying job and took me 2 evenings The exhaust attachments are a guess work because they deffer from the later vehicle and on the available photo's of vehicle nr 1 you can see that there is something but no clear sight, so I thought this one is a good solution Thanks for looking Eddy

Count me in! I was not sure which kit I want to buy for this variant... I was leaning toward to Amusing Hobby because of its PE set.
Your build is looking really good!

Nice build progress so far Eddy. I recently built the Dragon Nr.3-5 kit so will be watching this one with interest. Love the look of these 'landship' monsters.

Hi, I wanted to built the command or radio version of the Neubaufahrzeug and one of the vehicles who went to Norway. I used the Amusing kit for the hull, the running gear and the on the vehicle equipment because that is more detailed and correct Trumpeter provided the 3 turrets and the fenders. www.perthmilitarymodelling.com/reviews/vehicles/neubaufahrzeug/neubaufahrzeug.htmlPerhaps it is crazy, but buying after market stuff to detail the Trumpeter kit was almost as expensive as buying a new Amuzing kit I think. And the missing row of bolts on the engine deck for instance was hard to correct. I think Amuzing Hobby planned to make the earlier version of the Neubaufahrzeug too because some of the parts are there. Yes I am building the other Amusing kit OOB. I hope it make sense Eddy

Looks like german designers were "inspired" by T-35 and T-28. The antenna arrangement is virtually identical...
Very nice job on those two monsters, Eddy. I'll follow very interested.
