I'm not gonna lie, I have loads of WIPs on the go at the moment. I'm a slow worker at the best of times and far too easily distracted. I seem to jump from project to project and with the Creepy Mouth Monster sculpt out the way (and with the caster) I can now lose myself in that luxury of distraction! There will be a sudden landslide of completed sculpts, mostly without any associate WIP shots (I was finding myself spending as much time "blogging" as sculpting)! Anyway, the other night I decided to start work on something bigger, to improve my understanding of anatomy and to allow me to concentrate on creating a more convincing piece. I started with a 1/32 scale dolly, which I created using the trusty Iron Mammoth template: I then posed the armature based on a zombie from the video game Resident Evil: ...as you can see I also started working on the basic shapes. Here's the original image: I will share more WIP shots as they come. There are some more 1/32 armatures knocking around, either for use as more zombies or characters from Resident Evil or Silent Hill, I haven't yet decided.

Thanks guys! I've recently been working on the face. I started by adding two balls of putty for the eyes. Once cured I started working around the eyes. Next sitting I added the top row of teeth and carved back the cheek and jaw areas. I then sculpted the lower row of teeth. The zombie in the artwork has its mouth open a little wider but I don't think correcting this would be worth the time, which I could put towards sculpting something else. I personally don't think it detracts from the sculpt.

Moon, you are the guy! Being a RESIDENT EVIL Fanatic, too (made the Bandersnatch in 120mm and a Tyrant in 1:35) I love seeing sculpted figures from the game. Zombies are so cool to sculpt and the designs are endless... Hope, you have worked on this Masterpiece here a bit more, I am very interested how far you have come. More please!!

Hi Frank, thanks for the kind words! I haven't worked on this guy for a while, which is a huge shame. Perhaps your comment was the gentle encouragement I need!

So, what happened to the figure you were working on? All I saw here was some little x's...maybe the photo(s) were deleted? Found this diorama photo via Google using zombie diorama using action figures.
