Hi guys, I'm back in business again. I was having my summer holiday road trip with my gf so no time for modelling or computer. We were two weeks in the northern Finland at my girlfriends summer cottage and drove around north.
I broke my airbrush needle and can't continue my other projects so I guess I have to start another one. This time something bigger than a 1/48 halftrack. I'm having a few good ideas with panzer IV's so I chose an DML kit with molded zimmerit.
Let's see if I can find something suitable in my am parts box.

Good to have you back! Glad your trip to Finland was good. A friend of mine told me mosquitoes there were as big as birds.
Great choice... Pz IVs are one of my favorites. And plenty of aftermarkets I am fan of. I am interested to learn more about miniature... plant looks pretty good. More pictures please?

Welcome back....and wow what a great kit to start with. A little something he says. Lots of very cool goodies going on this one. Gonna check at the next show for some of those IV goodies, like a metal barrel or two.
Thanks, it's nice to be here again. Yes, mosquitos are big in here and there are LOTS OF them. You slap your feet once and there is ten dead mosquitos.. Also there is lots of blackflys and those things bite a piece of your skin off... So welcome to Finland
I'm planning to do a very worned out vehicle, but no a total wreck. One inspirational photo:
Now building is officially started. Griffon fenders are a model kit by itself. There is like fifty parts just for fenders. I think they build up pretty much same way as in real vehicle.
I am digging this all the way!! Fun type of labor intensive!! I have one of these sets for the J...only need the kit...LOL!! Will be following with interest!
Thank you guys I found more interesting photos when searching photos of battle damaged fenders. They can be in pretty bad shape. And so much details to add..
Modelfreak: I found those pics with google image search Couple of those seems to be bundesarchiv photos. This is good site for browsing them jtrowbridge5.smugmug.com/

Some fantastic pe work on the fenders. LOVE that first ref pic. I have that one and some similar and have been dying to model one of them. Looks like I may have to get that pe set for my H version.
It starts to look like a tank. Took those tool clamps from aber set because it was a way more detailed than griffon set. Tool clamps are always quite tricky part, but I think that those look ok.. Left some of them empty for extra detail.
Today's session got me this far. Almost done the building part. Next I try to do some damage on zimmerit but thats a way harder to do on molded zimmerit. Also bought a new airbrush needle and nozzle today What a great way to spent a day off.
