Chaps.
Right then.
Big build planned involving Alclad in certain areas. Problem I have is that I will need to handle the model quite a bit through the construction stages after applying the Alclad. It's easily marked / damaged and I obviously need to avoid that.
I see there is an Alclad clear coat, question is how durable is it?
It needs to be tough enough to withstand my grubby digits working on it after application.
Anybody got any experiences?

Hey Mence! Although I have not used their clear coat, I have heard good things about it! Seems it is as tough as other clear coats. I am sure there is a short cure time and then slapping around the model will be allowed!!
I have had good results using Future so far...again, 24 hr curing for the most part...for best results. Just my thoughts!
Good luck!

Not used it myself buddy but i`ve heard it`s good and i imagine the `Alclad` name is a pretty substantial with regards to quality and durability ......i bought a cheap pair of cotton gloves from Asdas Safe and Sound range i wear them at that critical stage!!........only cost about a quid and their nice and soft and ya won`t risk leaving any prints (although it is best to handle as little as poss even with gloves on as ya well know, the warmth of ya hand may still soften the coating!! ), i picked a pair up from next to the Pharmacy aisle!!............just my tuppence worth Prof These are the ones............i did have a similar pair but they had a very distinct course weave in them, these are much softer and have no fibres..

What does the Aqua gloss look like fellas? Ive googled it and got lots of different types....most not modeling related. A link or pic would be helpful. Wanna take notes on this type stuff to use on a future Tamiya 1/48 P47-D build

Thanks for the advice chaps, lots to keep me going there. Must admit I did ponder Future / Klear as it seems fine on pretty much any paint you care to mention. Boots, the gloves I think are a sensible precaution regardless so I will get some, best send the wife in for them as my local Pharmacy has a pretty dim view of me anyway Cheers chaps!

Cheers Eth, as the proposed project is fairly decal intensive, I will be careful!

Need to get off my butt on a couple of old 1/25 scale Tamiya Tigers I've had laying around.

Using Alclad myself soon, on a 1/25th scale Tamiya Tiger that'll be sporting a DAK look. I'm planning on priming it, then the Alclad, then hitting it with a coat of DullCote prior to proceeding further.
