Hi all, I'm looking into getting a proper,high-quality airbrush finally (been using one from eBay till now, which, while it works, doesn't give me anywhere near the precision, etc that I want, and sometimes causes paint jobs to be messed up).
I'm not looking for anything in particular, just a good quality top feed and dual action one that can do both fine lines and basecoats, etc. I have a budget of 100$ cad, although that will include tax, shipping (although my LHS has a good selection, so might be able to get whatever i decide from there instead), etc.
Thanks all in advance!

Airbrush guns are all a matter of taste and in many cases it's not only how good you feel with the equipment, but even more a question of the paint used, thinner, the mixing ratio and correct air pressure! For ambitious beginners and according to your demands, I can seriously recommend the "Professional" (ex Master Class) from Revell, also for her ease of handling and cleaning. These can be sometimes found for reduced prices just under 100.-€, and I use it for the most time as my general tool in all of my builds. I own Aztec, Badger and Iwata as well. www.modellbau-koenig.de/Werkzeug_/_Pinsel_/_Kleber_/_Airbrush/Airbrush/SPRAY_GUN_PROFESSIONAL__i243_9330_0.htmIf you will be able to source a good gun that has all those features you stated within a budget of 100.-$, I'm in doubt. Whenever I've heared of such actions it always ended with buying a second more expensive gun... Here's a tip for the future: Don't try to save some money by using nitro thinner from the hardware store for cleaning. It will destroy the rubber seals in no time. Spend some more money and buy a special cleaner solution (I use also Revell). Some guys tend to need 3-4 new sealings in one year, I didn't need any in 15. I went cheaper... Cheers, Tobi

Thanks guys, this has been really helpful so far - thanks for the continuing input.
As I may be going to my LHS and choosing from their large selection, are there any airbrushes that I should specifically keep away from?
Thanks again guys!

Personally I do dislike the models from Aztec for two reasons: too much plastic and difficult to clean. I've attached a picture of two different nozzles. The larger is from the Revell "Professional" the smaller one from an Iwata High Performance Plus. The latter is only 2-3mm in size. The example is extreme, of course. You may decide which one you want to clean on a regular basis! Cheers, Tobi

Hi, I would recommend phoning the Airbrush Company (Based in Lancing, UK) they are really helpful and sell all the major brands of airbrush. They will point you in the right direction! I hope that helps! (There are so many out there, they will will find the best one for you )
