Howdy folks! Well, for those of you who have been following along in the wingy section, the captured 262 is finally all done and dusted! It's been up in the wingy section for a few days now, but figured I would post it here as well for those who don't venture into the dark side!! For those who are unaware, this is an Me-262 that was captured and flown by the RAF at Fassberg in 1945. As per standard practice, all Luftwaffe insignia were pained over with allied markings (in this case RAF) and the swastikas were (usually) overpainted. The kit is the Tamiya 1/48 Me-262 A-2a, a magnificently "shake-and-bake" kit if ever there was one! There was a major hiccup with the decals (we shall not speak of it here... ) but I think I recovered rather well! Ennyhoo, enjoy the pix, hope you like 'em. Looks like I made MoM by the skin 'o me teeth!! More pix over in the wingy thread for those that are keen for a gander. Big thanks to T for his advice on painting timber! Think I did a not bad job for a first crack at my makeshift sign! Hope you like 'em! Cheers, Sam

Sam your 262 looks great. Awesome finish. On it. Nice to see a subject changed up from its normal portrayal of everyday service life. Great job! Rick

Leon - Thanks buddy! Yeah, I was pretty happy with how the sign came out. Not bad for a first go I reckon! Rick - Thanks for the compliment, my friend! Yes, I am a big fan of different or unusual paint schemes on aircraft. I have a mountain of decals for different captured aircraft, both Allied and Axis. I have always wanted to do a 262 in British markings, so here we are!! Bill - Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed the ride! Dupes - Cheers buddy, that means a lot! Glad you like the weathering, there were a couple of "firsts" in this one for me, so I'm glad it all came together in the end! T - Thanks buddy, appreciate your efforts in getting her into the MoM in time! Really appreciate your input with the sign painting too! Andy - Thanks mate, seems like a few folk around here like my sign. As it's the first time I've done it, I'm rightly chuffed!! Dan - Thank you very much kind sir!! Cheers, Sam
