I want to try this Enamel wash for German Vehicles painted dark yellow by AK Interactive. For my E-50. The base color is Tamiya spray so should I seal it before using the wash? I've only used a water based wash before and with it you just wipe it off just before it dries. But this appears to be used straight from the bottle but it should attack the paint if it's not sealed... right? Also, I'm sure I should use it sparingly while the water based stuff could be applied "wherever" as it filled in the nooks and crannies too. So.... how do I avoid disaster? Jeff

Hi Jeff, When you say "Tamiya Spray" you mean rattle can yeah? Certainly you would want to give a clear coat before applying the AK. When applying the wash or any AK product you can apply any amount you wish but layers will work really well. Often I go full strength but sometimes I like to cut my product. Take a couple drops of the wash in the appropriate mixing container ans mix 50/50 with thinner. Simply apply the wash. Allow this to set up for 5 to 10 minutes. Then with a flat brush humid with thinner(dip the brush in thinner and blot each side on a paper towel or rag twice)work the flat surfaces removing some of the wash from the panels and allowing the details to retain the wash. Here is a link to a video in our library here. Mig demonstrates a wash and some streaking effects...worth the watch! Wash Demo By Mig Jimenez - 18 minute video from the 2012 AMPS National Show in Indiana where Mig explains how to apply washes and some streaking to a kit. If your model is sealed well...play around and have some fun!! Working the washes in layers will build depth and not make things seem so "structured!! Good luck!!

T hit the the nail on the head Jrff, A gloss coat clear will make it easier to clean the wash up around the details.
