Hello guys!! I just recently finished a review of some Tichy Train Group products I purchased. The review can be seen - HERE. During the review I decided to place the crane I bought on a new base format of mine. This made me start thinking that the scene needed a little something else....A wedgie! So with that, Here is a couple quick shots of the base from the review. With the base constructed I began thinking about what and how I was to place something to fill the "missing void" in the rear of the piece. I found an old box of trains in the garage. At the show several boxcars were being sold by several booths for around 3 to 5 dollars. Found one and gave it a nice little cut and grind, so that it would fit on my base... The car will obviously need to be painted. I got a decent primer coat down using Alclad's Micro Filler/Primer.

Running with this one, I started laying down some pre-shading. Then with a slightly light rusty mixed color I thinned the paint and gave the car a coat. Allowing the base to dry, I clear coated with Testor's Rattle can and let dry. The I broke out the AK Chipping Fluid!! This coat needed to dry, which only takes a few minutes and it was onto some paint. Grabbing what was closest at the time, which happened to be an AK Russian Green Modulation set. I started with the dark Base, shading again. I went right into the Highlight color... TBC....

I need to spay something on the top to break up the color a little. I grabbed some Deck Tan mixed with a little white and thinned heavily, I sprayed the roof panels. OK, I got lucky and had some extra time. I gave this chopped up piece a chipping. A little room temperature water and a stiff brush with some support from a toothpick, chip, chip, chip.... Now, it was time to lay down a filter to tone everything down a bit. And that is where it stands at the moment. So I will plan on playing with this off and on this week and should be able to knock this on out!!! Thanks for stopping by!!!

OK then... Not a huge update but making headway. After adding a little more chipping, I added a little dark wash using unmixed Streaking Grime and I also added a couple streaks.... Next up is a quick clear coat and then onto some rust and grime streaking. Thanks for checking it out!!
