Hi Guys! I wasn't sure where to post this so here it is...my first real armor related post here (except for T-34)so will try to keep a regular update going Photos: Nice box art from Jamie Tainton....he runs Armour Workshop Sprues: The portion shown on the instruction sheet is what I've assembled so far...the section to the left of A4 is aluminum, nicely detailed barrel. Still a few parts to go for step 1. Very nice kit and well detailed (AFV club is a little better) but Dragon provides a nice Marine crew. Another OOtB build no special effects in this one...! Thanks for watching and stay tuned to this channel! Cheers, Paul

Thanks guys for the interest, this one should be fun!
BTW, I coudn't post a photo of the stuff I built my camera battery was low...
I'm going to deviate a little from instructions and clean up and build the crew first just to get them outa the way, I'll paint them later.
Stay tuned, hopefully I'll have an update by the week end.

Small update.... Basic construction of the crew is mostly complete minus heads and equipment. Image from instructions... Now I can continue with the gun build...figures are not bad, detqail is kinda soft but for this build they'll do fine. Any progress is good progress right! Cheers, Paul

Hi Guys, Another small update... This time the gun: I'm left handed so this was kinda hard to take the pic since my camera is right handed (like just about everything ) Better? I had a minor disaster...that bar that goes to the center of the screen, just above the return spring, broke so I had to re-glue it...all better now. I ended up puttying under the gun rail so it was a little difficult getting to all the nooks and crannies, nicely detailed gun. Hard to hold without breaking something, the gun barrel comes in handy as a holder! Been an interesting build but Dragon makes it more difficult than it has to be with their assembly sequence......so I scratched my head a few times and eventually figured a better way other than what I already had assembled based on following the instructions step by step...ugh The second photo showing the left side has the adjustment for the elevation, azimuth etc. this was difficult to finally get right as the instructions are not real clear on it's assembly. This is too bad as Dragon makes a lot of good kits. The first photo shows the gun sight, neat little assembly. Thanks for watching! Take care, Paul

You sure are making short work of this one. Excellent job from what I can see, those howitzer sights are always a challenge to get them plumb when the gun is set up the final time and if they are not plumb it jumps out at you like an angry tiger. I agree those little parts do not like to be held onto, the just fall off to show you how much they don't like it.

You are correct sir....even after gluing pretty well it kinda wanted to flop over on it's side (the gun sight that is). Not a great attachment point though, pretty small to begin with anyway! The kit is very well detailed just the instructions suck as to correct assembly. No clue why Dragon makes no attempt to correct obvious errors in their instruction sheets, you would think it would matter to them since it affects the overall quality of their kits...... Maybe cause theirs no money involved so they just shrug their shoulders..... Paul

Paul I have often wondered the same thing, it would only cost them a kit or two to have a couple of builders build them and markup their directions before the initial run but ................

Nice progress on the arty piece! As for Dragon instructions, that just increases the challenge factor...every one of their kits that I've ever built (and I've built a lot of them!) has had at least one error in the instructions. There was one build that had an error in EVERY step in fact, so it could always be worse.
