Hi guys , I think we all have long standing projects on the go so I thought I would start one here on MSC . The kit I will be using is the Hasegawa kit , although it was a good kit in its day it is quite dated compared to other Panzer IV kits on the market . Thus for this build I will be stealing parts from other kits, adding interior sets, cutting and drilling holes , bending , breaking , trying out new techniques to me in 1/72 and eventually painting with fingers crossed I end with with a decent looking model. Anyhoo the base kit ............................ The first thing I did was threw out the decals . Upper hull is not bad , no open hatches though so Im gonna change that eventually . The tracks suck big time , I have new ones on the way. Straight forward black and white instructions so assembly should be easy enough ha ha I will make a start on the kit over the weekend . Cheers Deano

Ok so I made a start on this today and although it dosnt look like much it was time consuming ............ Remembered I had these instructions from building the F1 smart kit on MM ages ago . These will come in handy for checking accuracy as the kit was very sound that way . So started to remove things from the turret the air vent cover will be missing in the finish . Also gonna start cutting out for the side doors . Chopped of the fenders as I am going to make my own and have the right side twisted . Ened up hot kniving the fenders off as the plastic was hard and 2 mil thick . Starting the running gear as well , the left side will be fix and the right will have some wheels articulated to suit the ground and battle damage . That aint going to be easy but I have worked out a plan in my head so will need to see if it works or not. Also seems like I will be scratch building the turret interior instead of an AM set ....wish me luck ha ha Cheers Deano

easier, and yet harder in that scale

easier, and yet harder in that scale Not harder if you build it, then drop a large book on it...push all the parts back to the center of a board, add some glue, some paint...Done!! LOL...Looking good Deano. It all a process...steps...I think of the finiahed model and try and work in reverse as the damaged would have happend after the tank was built not before it came off the sprue!!

Sounds like this one's got mission creep built into it! No sooner do you complete one thing then you realize there are 2 more that have popped up to be dealt with. We have faith in you Deano!
