Huge improvement... like Dicky always tell me PE is not always the best option. Great build so far!

Come to think about not having given any info about the FAUN, I believe that many people think that the Elefant and the Franziska are more or less the same vehicle but thats not so . so here goes. Info on the SLT-56: It appears that the name Franziska contrary to the Elefant isn't the official name? The SLT-56 was never attended to replace the SLT-50 2/3, it's primary use is transporting overheavy loads like the Leopard 2 A5/A6 on solid roads and support the SLT-50 2/3 here. It differs from the SLT50-2/3 in more ways than just double headligts which is easiest way to tell them apart, it is in fact an independently and completely new developed vehicle. Technically, they differ in the drive train and the engine, the SLT-56 is 8x6 and the SLT-50 is 8x8. The trailer is also different, as is the configuration of the winches and boxes. The SLT-56 is used to haul the 52-, 56- and 59-ton trailer. The roof of the cab is a different design as well as the whole compartment rear of the cab to the fifth wheel and the axles are a completely different type. On the front of the cab the 2 piece access hatches were replaced by a 1 piece hatch, the rims are modified according to the use of external planetary axles. It was used in the UN mission in Somalia but with the Elefant trailer, which means that the SLT-56 trailer have never been in white UN livery. Hope this give an insight to these beasts

Info on the SLT-56: It appears that the name Franziska contrary to the Elefant isn't the official name? True! I've heared the person who linked the name to the SLT-56 happened to have become the father of a daughter named Franziska, at the time of it's introduction into the Bundeswehr. It's no official designation, as suggestive names for land vehicles usually are based on animals. Cheers, Tobi
