Many thanks guys! A bit more progress here with pigments on some of the wheels and tracks. I will do some SBS photos for this on the wheels yet to be done. Thanks for following, nearly finished. Cheers JT

Hi again, thanks heaps for your replies! Anyway I thought someone might be interested in how I do pigments usually. 1. I mix the pigment with water and brush on the paste. 2. Here it is dry. 3. Then I go over them with a dry paint brush to move them around and 'powderise' most of them again, being careful not to tip them off. 4. Then I used a brush and add some drops of white spirit, while trying not to disturb the pigments too much. The liquid will flow through the powder by capillary action. 5. Now it's dry I am happy with how they look. 6. Here I'm using the brush again, this time adding some drops of enamel based pigment fixer. Shake the bottle of fixer up first and don't add too much, otherwise it may leave a gloss residue. Almost finished! Cheers JT

Thanks for sharing your techniques JohnT and the Windex tip was new trick I hadn't heard of before. Will keep that in mind when I finally get around to building something and great to see the detail you put in your posts. I love the way you've done your exhausts by the way, very realistic.

Many thanks guys, glad you like it! As I mentioned earlier the exhausts were just sponged with various rusty colours, Vallejo acrylics. They then had the dust treatment, same as the rest of the tank, but I forgot to mention they had some oil paint washes, Mig Dark Rust and then black on the ends.
Cheers JT

Thanks for the SBS JT! Awesome stuff mate! I wondered why my pigment fixer turned glossy when I tried it.

Great finish, John. I would say it's museum quality, but I've seen museum pieces that didn't look as good!
