I have a soft spot for this Tank so I will be watching with interest. Deano I know what you mean. I had a BT from Italeri but a neighbor friend wanted it, so I gave it to him. Now I need to get another soon. So how does the Tamiya build up? Any problems with it and what about the tracks... are they a snap together or must be cemented? Jeff

Hi Jeff, this is one sweet build! Just like Tamiya it goes together with no real trouble and good detailing. The tracks are length and link, and hold together quite well temporarily until you get them in shape and glue them. So here's a bit of progress. Everything was given a wash with soap and warm water and thoroughly dried. Then the primer: Paint: Post shading or colour modulation, what ever you want to call it. Just some variation and interest to the plain green: Some chipping using a sponge and very fine brush, and Vallejo dark rust/black: Thanks for following so far, see you again soon. JT

Hi guys, thanks for following along. I didn't want to make the chipping over the top, but it's starting to disappear under the layers now anyway! I've just been adding rust stains, streaks, dust and various effects with oil paints, thinned with white spirit. Still a ways to go yet. Thanks again for following, cheers! JT

Hi folks Some of you guys may have seen where I have being messing around with windex as a chipping medium, that's what I have used here. (Windex is a glass cleaner available in the US and Australia, containing Isopropyl Alcohol and other solvents. www.whatsinsidescjohnson.com/en-us/products-by-brand/windex/windex-original-glass-cleaner.aspx ) After the rust stains plus some effects with oils were allowed to dry a few days I hit everything with a good coat of dullcote. This acts as a barrier to prevent the windex eating through too much paint as it is resistant to the stuff. Then I added some pigments just sprinkled on and fixed with fixing fluid. Next I airbrushed a layer of Tamiya Acrylic Buff as a layer of dust. This was then removed in places and along edges with windex on a fine paint brush. The windex eats away the Buff paint, like the effect of scuffing or rubbing off the dust. The windex can be diluted in water if it's too volatile, and in some spots I used Tamiya Lacquer thinner as a solvent instead of the windex. Still more to do, I haven't even done a pin wash yet, then of course the running gear. So see you again soon! Cheers JT

Hi guys, thanks for your comments! Hi Luigi, I painted the exhausts by sponging on Vallejo Dark Rust, Standard Rust, Yellow Rust, and some blue, mixing them as I dabbed the sponge on. Then they received the same dust treatment as the rest of the tank. Here is some progress, using oils again. Mig Black, Basic Earth, and Dark Mud, thinned with white spirit. Getting dirty now! Cheers JT
