Hi folks, started a while ago the build of a German mini sub the Seehund from Bronco. A very nice & easy to build kit so highly recommended! At this moment I'm finishing the base and still have o do the 2 figures, dog & bike. The set up:   The airbrush job: Weathering in progress:   Torpedo factory:  Final sub paint with torpedo:  So I picked up this project last week and just finished painting the groundwork elements and base. Will add leaves, wet spots and other little tiny stuff later on.    So next will be building the bike and painting the figures & dog. More pics from this project can be found here . Hope you like it! Great idea with the dog, though it's not really a sea-dog. Did you make him yourself from putty or what?

Thnx folks. It's a resin dog from Yosci, a Japanese brand. Sure no problem. After an intensive airbrush job of priming, layering, masking and a *post shade it looks something like this: (all done with Tamiya acrylics and the regular Tamiya X20-A thinner)  *Since I did a camouflage a pre-shade won't work well so I did a post shade on this one with very diluted dark brown. I sealed everything with Games Workshop Purity seal after wards. For the weathering process I mainly use Liquitex acrylic inks. Yo can thin this stuff with water and blend with Tamiya X20A thinner. (like oils with white spirit) First I pinwash a part and blend this wash with X20A. Then I did some dark & light washes & streaks using mixes of Transparent burnt umber & Neutral Grey Value 5 and when the umber ink started to dry I use it for the hard edge paint chips. Softening some of those "hard" chips was done using a drop of X20A. I use this method over and over again on all my modeling projects the last couple of years. A mixture of different effects using Liquitex inks can be seen here on a Mak Jerry project I did. But I also use this inks for creating wood effects. So I just love Liquitex inks. Bye, Marcel. |
