Hi guys, let me explain the idea behind this thread first As you know I'm suffering with a loss of mojo at present and I think it's got to do with me thinking there is nothing I can bring to the site anymore through blogging anything Most things I do are bog standard OOB boring builds which nine times out of ten don't even make it to the end of the build they normally end up in the bread crate that lives on top of my wardrobe this not only wastes my time but wastes yours too A change of direction is needed which starts here. This thread will accommodate all of my builds new & old without wasting time with unfinished blogs, it'll just be a place to show you what I've got going on on Robbos bench at the moment A good idea I hope you'll agree and I hope you'll join me in my quest to save my mojo

Hey there Ian!! Been there...kind of heading down the Loss-o-Mojo path a bit too myself. (it may not look it but I am) It isn't easy and sometime if you push it you end up making it worse with more unfinished things lying around!!
I try to channel the frustration...it comes to a head and then just needs to explode...."Bad Kitty" was one of these!! The only thing I can offer is to try something quick and dirty...don't think, just build!!! Get it paint ready and sit back and enjoy the magic at that point!!!
Just say the word buddy!! I am ready to break loose and break something with ya Bro!! LOL It can be rewarding!! I hate to say that I would wrap that nice little bike model right around a pole for starters!! LOL Nothing says I WANT MY MOJO BACK like a good wreck!!!!
We are all here buddy!!!

Yep............hear ya loud and clear mate, mojo loss seems to hit in small bouts mate, at least it does with me................then all of a sudden ya get a long term one!!!!!!, it`ll pass tho fella and ya`v got some crackin` builds to choose from there ;D, me personally.............i like what ya done with the M40, the trailor looks superb mate.
Pesonally............i think the bike just might test ya patience a bit if i`m being honest, they do get a little bit involved and it might push ya mojo button even more if ya ain`t enjoying it............i`d go with `Harry` or the M40 and save the bike till ya fully cookin` on gas ;D ;D

You're not the only one with a 'Bread Crate' mate, it goes with the hobby! As for OOTB, seen any of mine lately? Stick with it fella, do what you want, when you want, if you want. Whatever it is, I very much look forward to seeing what ya up to!

Thanks for the encouragement chaps, as you say this way I can just jump around doing as I please and not get bogged down. I'm going to concentrate on Harry first at it's so close to the end
I'll get cracking after a major clean up as it's a right state in my den, that also probably hasn't helped the mojo much

I'm here ready to look at what ever you feel like sharing buddy. OOB is not a bad thing at all. especially with the price of AM goodies. This is a hobby for people like us to enjoy, so build at your own pace and have fun doing it.

Like the others, I can certainly relate. With family commitments, doing outside work for others, and just wanting to do other things besides modeling, it can be easy to fall into a rut.
My problem normally comes from having four or five things in progress and being stuck on all of them and not getting anything done. I actually picked up a self-help book at one time to help me get out of it. I only had to read the first chapter and it actually fixed the problem at the time.
Not sure if this applies to you guys or not, but usually when I hit a block it's because of something that is hanging me up on each project. Something I just can't get through. Then before I know it, I've hit something on all of them and have five things all stalled.
I was amazed at how this book actually related to my situation. The authors advice was to just take one project and determine what the one thing was that was holding things up. Clear everything else off the bench, and just focus and concentrate on that one hang up on that one project and concentrate on just working through that.
I sat down one day and did that, and it was crazy. Once I got through that one, then I grabbed the next project and did the same. And before I knew it, I was back to building and was making progress on several things!
The other thing that helps me is to actually go back on go through my old project photo albums or WIP threads on forums. It shows me that it is a long road and things won't get done overnight. It also reminds me that I did it once, I can do it again and finish something! I always tell people modeling is like 90% mental if not more. And if your head ain't right, you'll never get anything done, or if you do, it will come out poorly.
Anyway, sorry to be so long winded. ;D Clay

Cheers again you guys I spent the day at work today thinking of finishing models and new project, this I think is a good sign that things will be looking up again soon. Although I didn't run home and get the glue out I did however have an urgency to get on the site for a catch up, this again was a good sign. Last night e-bay find of my chrome spray for a up and coming F1 build was also a positive sign Keep watching guys

Don't know why you think folks wouldn't be interested Ian, I love following your blogs. Its not always about AMS, sometimes there is a lot to be learned watching a kit built and finished really well without the AM or scratching bells and whistles to my mind modelling is 90% about the basics, parts cleaned properly and assembled well, and a good paint job. Too many people neglect those and jump straight into the PE, Fruils and barrels That Harrier for instance looks VERY interesting

Hi Robbo, I reckon this blog is a great idea, it's all in one place! Especially if you're doing a few different things at once. That's some nice builds going, but there's no pressure, fun is priority one.
Cheers JT

Robbo,
I can't realy add anything more than what has already been said but this,
My mojo is up and down more than a brides (you get the point) so when i can't get to my bench the thing that keeps me in the hobby is looking online at the builds of others. Finished or not seeing guys get on with something is always a boost. (Thank You)
As for a single thread, i've seen it on a few other forums and i think it works well, good on you for trying it.
all the best dude.
