I wanted to try out Mr Surfacer 1200 in the can as a primer,I heard it was good, but I can only get the 1000 at my LHS,how is that stuff for priming ?
I currently use the Tamiya stuff in the can

Only tried out the 500 last spring. More gritty than Tamiya, takes a little longer to dry and the smell is also as bad.
I think the 1000/1200 are pretty interchangeable with the Tamiya primer, so in the end it's just a matter of faith.
Cheers, Tobi

I have only used the Mr. S in a jar and thinned for use with the AB but it's a great primer. It's hot(ish) so it gets a good bite into the plastic. If you ever so any bare metal aircraft, for the non-polished and chrome colors it's the best primer. I cannot get a smooth light coat with a rattle can so I would likely decant the Mr. S to spray through the AB. But that's me.
