Hey fellas, I watched a 2 hour documentary narrated by Jeremy Irons on Smithsonian Channel last night on the Campaign and Battles on the Gallipoli Peninsula during WWI. I had no idea what a huge, brutal and bloody affair it was. I saw the movie with Mel Gibson years ago, but it did not do justice to the fact it was a large campaign with many Battles with deaths far over 100,000. Also strange stories of compassion & between the trenches where gifts were exchanged and thrown for trench to trench and while cease fires were called to collect casualties and the Turks and Allies would have chats exchange gifts & goods then go back to positions and continue to shoot at each other. Incredible stories with pictures ive never seen before. I recommend this show if ya get a chance to see it fellas. If you have seen it let me know your thoughts. Cheers, Gary
