This is the result of the most recent 1/1 scale project: Now that he's born, I've actually been getting MORE modeling done than I was before - much less stress not worrying about how he was going to turn out (four weeks early), and they've been pretty lenient about letting me get out of work a little early to hang out with the dude. Tried giving him an Xacto knife...hasn't taken yet. Give me a few years and he'll be posting builds!

Thanks guys! Andy - the entire stash was moved down to the basement last year to make room for him...which alternatively gives me a place to hide when he gets loud. Luigi - he actually does! 3 or 4 hour chunks every night. Pretty nice. Todd & Boyd - odds are good you'll see him at Baycon next month (at least for a while).

Congrats Dupes! Just make sure he's exposed to three-tone schemes early on, that will do the trick!

And now the journey truly begins My friend. Congrats, and I'm glad things turned out well. Take every opportunity to spend time with Him. It seems like only a few days ago it was "Hey, Dad" and now it's "Hey Gramps" Time flies, use it well My friend. He's being raised in one of the best places in the world, Maine, make the most of it.

Congrats Dupes, that is fantastic!! Welcome to fatherhood!! It may be tough work early on, but they change your world for the better. I have two (a boy, almost 3, and a girl, 4 1/2) and they are an absolute blessing. It is the best feeling in the world when I come home from work and my little man hears me come in the door and runs up to me yelling "Dad! You back!" You have a lot of joy to look forward to my friend. There will definitely be pain and frustration as well, but hopefully it is more of the first one than the last two! My boy loves my planes and I look forward to the day I can sit down and model with him. Can't wait!! He is growing up fast though, so enjoy every moment that you can mate, it will slip through your fingers pretty quick! Cheers, Sam

My wife and I look forward meeting the baby... he will be about a year old. We are coming third week of September for sure because the conference will be held in Portland.

Only one potential drawback (if you want to look at it that way) - Armorcon 2014 down in Danbury, CT is most likely that weekend. According to Google it's a 260 mile drive, 4.0 hours. Think you can talk the wife into a "show" while you're in Maine?

Yep, already looked into this... maybe we can car pool? LOL Conference starts on Sept 17 or 18 and ends on Sept 25. I am prepared to take days off to visit my aunt in Bath and the Arcadia Park if time permits.
I think my wife is willing to come with me as she knows how much I want to go to this one. We can talk more when time comes...

I'm SURE we could work something out. Although, if you're driving home after the conference, you aren't going to want to go back to Maine before heading west.

Poopy diapers. Yeah, not a fan myself! So far he has shown great interest in hanging out in the basement...maybe he's already fired up to help me build the stash?

Shoot, man - you're only 10 years older than me and already have grandkids?
I guess I am a little late getting started! I'll be 57 when he graduates Hugh school. Yikes.

Congratulations Dupes. What a great opportunity to share knowledge and skills when he grows a bit older. Till then, you have time to figure out how to protect all the fragile pieces you have built!
