Hey spud! Not sure why they only sell the filter in the set....and singular at shows. I honestly can tell you, you will not need any other filter!! I use the Nato filter on just about everything. Remember, the nature of the filter is to add very light applications, building up in layers till you get what look you want. Filters are not washes even though I have used unmixed washes or really thin washes from oils as filter...all in the app!
Long and short...test it on a few different colors on a test bed....think you will like what you see!!

Spud, you have to buy the panzer gray set to get the Blue brown filter for panzer gray.
Edit: OOOPS, I'm sorry, I see CS used the blue wash.

I'm using the Blue filter right now on the green KV hull...same as Ken. Yes the filters are a bit thibk but these can be used for washes as well as thinning for a filter. All SIN products as well as the 502 Abteilung oils are from Mig Productions. Like I've mentioned many times before, the AK products may be labeled for a certain effect but it does not mean it can olny be used for that. It's up to the modeler to use it for what he needs. For example the blue filter. I also applied the dark slimy grime as a filter first on the KV and then added the dark blue. The DAK wash is great for earth and dust effects....so you see the products have many uses and is only limited to the users imagination.

I don't know why spud. I think all the products should be made available separate and in sets. Some of the washes and filters are great on their own and can be used for many things. I will drop Iain an email and ask these questions. I was thinking and talked to Ken about a filter for green tanks...but then while applying filters to the KV I thinned the dark streaking grime AK024 and it worked great as a filter and a wash on the 4BO green. They could just thin this color and sell it as a filter for green vehicles.

Yep. I also used the NATO wash to add shadows on the KV. I will post some pics up later when all is dry, and before I start with the earth tones.
I've sent Iain of AK USA an email asking if he could chime in on these questions....from the horses mouth.
