Hey fellas, while building my stryker I was inspired by the the Calvin Tan book "Modeling Waffen SS figures" and started painting these guys. The first is a Tamiya figure and I'm looking forward to trying out a sweet camo pattern on the smock. This guy is from a Bronco vehicle kit (guess, it'll be my next quick oob work in progress) and I'm going with the old field grey. He's also got some cool insignia to work with. Both figs have a flat black base coat and one top coat. I've done a couple layers on the skin so far and am liking what I'm getting, but think they still need more. There no where near completed, but thought I would start a thread so you could join in on the fun. Any suggestions and ideas will be considered and warmly welcomed. More to come. Cheers all and happy modeling ;D

Hey guys. Just a small update. I decided to go with the Spring oak leaf pattern for the smock on this guy and just had time tonight for a coat of the reddish brown base with highlights and a little shadowing. Looking forward to adding the greens. I'm thinking I got the base color pretty close to some reference pics I found and also thinking that It'll darken slightly with washes to blend the colors. Let me know what you think! All suggestions are welcome. Thanks for looking cheers

Figs are starting to look good. Just need to work on the lighting for the pics.

Allright fellers, here's an update. Added the first couple of greens to the oak leaf pattern. It needs some touch up and the black layer, but I'm extremely pleased. I think it turned out great. Maybe I'll live up to my name Still working out the pic issues. gonna have to get another camera, I think. Let me know what you think of the cam pattern. As always, any helpful commentsare welcome (I filled that arm joint, thanks Phil.) cheers.

I like the Tarnjacke multicam ! Maybe just a bit too glossy here and there ? Is it oil paint or acrylic paint ? After drying you can brush on a thin layer of Vallejo matt varnish. Well done my friend !

FIGURES Here’s an update. Finally finished (nearly) this fella. I’m diggin the way he turned out. I love his hands:)! I also really like how proud/confident he looks. He still needs a flat coat and some pigs to dirty him up a bit. I’m going to use these guys in a diorama that I’m planning and I decided that the camo bloke needs a comrade. So here he is. He’s from the same tamiya set. (the above officer came in the Bronco Befehlpanzer 38H that will be included in the dio). I scratched the cup in his hand. He’s gonna be chillin, havin a drink in the ditch while his buddy informs the officer which direction the enemy is. Got a base coat on everything last night. Planning on doing some more tonight. He’s gonna have an oak pattern smock on like his buddy . Let me know what you think. Cheers!
