If this doesn't fir the here in the rust bucket section then I apologise. While the subject isn't a kit it uses all the same weathering tricks. Last year my lovely wife mentioned that she would like a digital radio for Christmas. We had a bit of a look around, and I had taken a particular shine to a nice retro looking Sony job. But we both could never really get past the outrageous price tag, for something that would only be used occasionally. I had discovered this forum at about the same time, along with all the awesome rust bucket builds on here. We eventually found this cheapo no name brand one. Unfortunately it looks, well cheap. So armed with a limited amount of know how gained from watching Scratchmod's YouTube tutorials, I had a crack at adding some character to something fairly bland. It's painted in a variety of Tamiya colours and weathered with Mig pigments and oils. I tried to follow Scratchmod's method and had varied success. I am particularly proud of the Marconi script as it is cut from styrene. I think I read somewhere Marconi were a brand of 1920's radio. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out all things considered, and My wife loves it as it adds a bit of character to the kitchen. Cheers, Brett

Great work, taking something new and making it look old and abused. Bonus to this weathering job is that no one will likely steal your new radio. Cheers Eh!

Thanks dude, that means a lot coming from someone like yourself. I just realised how bad those pics are. I think I should take some better ones and update that first post. Cheers, Brett T

Most excellent job, what a weathering. BTW Marconi was a brand as he was the inventor of the radio
