Great! From what set is this figure exactly? Do you know the movie "Lebanon" btw? So many questions...

Now that's nice!
I want to follow this, more pics please!
I was there in '78 but never went ashore. I left the Corps after that cruise. A few years after I got out my unit rotated in and was part of the group bombed in '83. Lost some good guys there.
30 years now.
Dang Paul, you got more modeling done by accident than i do on purpose!
Aint it the truth brother Gary! It's cause I have the attention span of a gnat its not like I don't have other to sort out either; - The Tadpole is probably only a couple of nights away from being finished and the Airgeep needs a bit more time for decals and weathering... True Andy- but this is made of alumiinium so it won't rust! just a little bit omre on this one: the kit comes with linkand length tracks - which unfortunately have a knock out mark in the middle of every single link pad! To add insult to injury I glued the running gear in place before applying the tracks which made things just a bit more difficult. I made such a hard job of getting the bottom runs and sprocket/idler buits on I just gave up on the top run so had to figure out how to address their absence. I decided to make up a "field" modification of the dust shield - similar to those seen on modern MBT's - with some mocro strip, used to "anchor" distressed 10thou; sheet and added some fxing bolts from everygreen rod- don't knowe the size- it was lying in my bits n' pieces. Not particulalry evident in these shots is the modified exhaust; I made one up from some florist wire around which I wrapped small gauge fuse wire to replicate the ( what I presume is ) asbestos cladding- now looks decidedly underscale - but as this has only a nod in the direction of possible historial accuracy - I aint sweatin' it. The heat shiled was made from some tube stock with holes drilled at reasonably regular intervals. Some enhancement of the engine grills using parts of an Eduard ACAV set I have no memeory of purchasing... I'll take a few more pics later.

So I thought it was time for a bit of an update on this; After some sponge chipping the Bucket received a liberal treatment of dust over the whole thing with Vallejo desert dust wash- not quiet sure of that stuff yet. Then I hit it with various dust coloured shades with particular attention to the lower extremities. Some detail painting still required. As far as the figure goes- not my strong point but using a mix of various Vallejo and Andrea shades he seems to be taking reasonable shape. As always ACW P

Figure looks right at home on top of the bucket Paul, you know there's only one way to get better at something and that's through practice...or maybe it's bribery...I can never keep it straight!
