After a monster clean up session of the man cave yesterday and a peruse through the stash last night I have decided to have a bash at the Hobby boss CV90-40 IFV. I just love the boxy look and flipping great gun on the turret! and the camo is interesting too. Should be a pretty straight forward build with a few additions along the way.

Same here. I've been tempted a couple of times on either this one or the Academy kit.

There's even a CV90-40C version with supplemental armor added.

ARRRGH! well I think this project is finished before it has even started. Last night saw me fighting the tracks trying to get them to fit correctly around the drive sprockets. The tracks are very nice with good detail and they just click fit BUT they just won't fit on the sprockets. I checked that the sprockets where assembled correctly (which they are) but the trouble seems to be with the teeth which to me look out of place and too thick. Sanding down has made no difference plus the tracks don't sit right. Bugger! looks like I may have to get some fruil tracks instead. AFV club make a set of "big foot" tracks but they look the same as the kit ones. So until funds are available I think this had better go back in the box before I loose my temper with it!

Do you have any pics of the offending misfit?
Would using liquid cement help set the tracks down into the teeth?
I hope so because I am getting one myself!

I liked what I was seeing soooo much, that I picked up my own Hobby Boss CV90-40 IFV for under 20 bucks and 8 for shipping!!! Did I do good or what? Any more pics we can see and how did your tracks come out? Jeff

No progress at the moment Jeff. I will be getting some fruil tracks in the near future and start the build again.
