Hope you are going to enter this into MoM... we don't see completed rotary often here.

Thanks for all the kind words and encouragement lads! The kindness and generosity of you fellas with yer comments gives me the desire to keep going with my building, just so I can show it of to y'all!! Andy, yeah I will be entering her in MoM, but I want to have a crack at some new photos to try and sort out the white balance. As far as the base goes, I picked up the base itself from our local hardware chain, Bunnings. They have a craft section which has a bunch of ready made bases of different shapes and sizes with the edges already finished with a router. The sizes are pretty much perfect for Braille scale armour and aircraft. The tarmac is one of many I collected of the interweb a while back. Someone did a whole series of them in Photoshop and the detail is amazing. They include normal runway with markings, concrete hardstands (both allied and Russian, with their distinct hexagonal pattern), USMC carrier decks and US Navy carrier decks. I simply print out the appropriate one on standard printer paper in full colour, then use spray adhesive to attach it to the base. Once the adhesive is dry, I trim the paper away with a sharp blade and then brush paint the edging with the colour of my choice. Usually it is a fairly dark or neutral colour, but this time I thought it would be fun to have a big splash of colour. Looks so good I might even do it again!! Hope that helps!! Cheers, Sam

I agree with the guys... base looks superb! Sorry I had to look at it again... I'd love for you to send me that picture. It may work well for one of my next future rotary builds. Sure beats paying $10-$20 just for something like that at LHS or shows!

I like it! Very nice. Echo all the comments. A great finish on these 1/72 kits really is tough to get but you really nailed it. GREAT job!
